*Estimados Compañeros de LacRalo*: 1) Quiero compartir con ustedes una cuestión en particular que estuvo sucediendo en el último evento de LACNIC que se dio del 15 al 20 de mayo pasado y que creo de importancia para la región, entre otros. *“Tenemos que trabajar en una declaración de principios regional”*, dijo Raúl Echeberría, CEO de Lacnic y responsable de la Internet Society. Raul cree que Lacnic debe avanzar en una declaración que incluya el “acceso a la información, la privacidad, la libertad de expresión, los derechos humanos y la neutralidad”, entre otros temas centrales. Desde Lacnic están empezando a trabajar en un declaración de principios “REGIONAL”, por lo que estaría involucrando a todos los usuarios de Internet. Pienso que debemos empezar a mirar este tipo de iniciativas y no estar al margen de las discusiones. Ya tenemos una iniciativa en la región impulsada por el Comité Gestor de la Internet de Brasil “cgi.br” de Brasil, en la cual emitió una declaración enunciando Principios de la Gobernanza y el Derecho de Internet. http://www.cgi.br/regulamentacao/resolucao2009-003.htm Las mismas están en tres idiomas disponibles para ser bajadas. No es casualidad que se empiecen a buscar “principios generales rectores” para cuestiones que hasta el momento no tienen un marco, que permita un desarrollo sustentable en cuestiones de políticas públicas. Si bien soy realista que esta temática no es discutida actualmente por ICANN (No es Policy), creo que Lacralo no debe estar al margen. Esta noticia y la presencia de Andrés Piazza en el organismo, creo que es una señal para empezar a trabajar en la Región o por lo menos para empezar a discutir internamente la cuestión de diversos puntos de vista (Cada ALS - Inreach). 2) Recordarles también que el día 8 de Junio próximo es el día mundial de IPv6 (*World IPv6 Day <http://lacnic.net/sp/www.worldipv6day.org>) y *durante ese día los principales proveedores de contenido como Google, Facebook y Yahoo! entre otros permitirán que sus sitios sean accedidos nativamente usando *IPv6*. 3) Se hablaron, tambien, muchas cuestiones importantes acerca del RNO http://www.nro.net/ y de IPv6 que les estaré comentando en próximos mails.
