Estimados todos: Estoy sorprendida con la solicitud de condición de bilingüismo que plantea Alberto. Y también me llama la atención que este tema se haya planteado directamente y tratado de resolver en la teleconferencia mensual , sin previa consulta a la lista de LACRALO. Estoy totalmente de acuerdo con Carlton y me opongo absolutamente a esta propuesta excluyente. Y al igual que Carlton aconsejaré a las ALS a que se manifiesten de la misma manera . Parece cosa del pasado y quien hace esta propuesta ( Alberto) parece no haber sido parte de LACRALO desde su inicio. Estos temas ya fueron discutidos ampliamente y por suerte RESUELTOS en post de un entendimiento general de que somos una región mayoritariamente con dos idiomas principales ( aunque tenemos más) y que ninguno de los dos ( español e Inglés) tienen más importancia uno del otro. No creo estar escribiendo esto en el día de hoy después de tantos años de intentos de unión entre Latinoamérica y Caribe!!! Yo quiero nominar a Sergio Salinas Porto por su trabajo sin descanso desde siempre en LACRALO, inclusive sin tener ningún cargo oficial que lo obligue a hacerlo. Además, actualmente, Sergio está liderando 2 grupos de trabajo en nuestra región y creo que es un excelente miembro de LACRALO para representarnos en Singapur. Estimado Carlton. Con Humberto conformamos un equipo de trabajo y tratamos de hacer lo mejor posible para nuestra Región. Temporariamente necesito la colaboración de alguien que sea bilingüe, para mantener la funcionalidad del equipo de trabajo. Si es reemplazado por alguien que solo hable inglés, tendremos inconvenientes por mi nivel de inglés. Si lo es por alguien que solo habla español, tendrá problemas en algunas reuniones que no tienen traducción. Además no vamos de vacaciones, normalmente nos juntamos donde es necesario y nos separamos para concurrir a distintas reuniones cuando ello resulta necesario No estoy discriminando a nadie, y lamento por quienes no hablan español y también por quienes no hablan inglés, pero debo pensar en la funcionalidad. Sé que el idioma oficial es el inglés, pero estamos en una Región donde multilingüe, y por mi comportamiento desde hace muchos años en la misma, creo que no merezco que me tilden de una conducta discriminatoria.
