POUR PUBLICATION IMMÉDIATE 23 août 2010 Candidatures recherchées dans la Communauté des Utilisateurs d'Internet pour un siège au conseil d'administration Le groupe ICANN représentant les utilisateurs individuels d'Internet fait appel à candidature pour ceux qui seraient intéressés à participer au développement des politiques tout en servant au conseil d'administration de l'organisation. La communauté « At Large » de ICANN (représentant les utilisateurs individuels d'Internet) effectue une recherche mondiale afin de pourvoir un siège pour un utilisateur d'Internet ne représentant pas un gouvernement, une entreprise ou une entité sans but lucratif. « Il s'agit d'apporter une voix à l'utilisateur moyen d'Internet de tous les jours dans l'organisation mondiale à but non lucratif chargée de coordonner le système d'adressage d'Internet » a déclaré Cheryl Langdon-Orr, Présidente de At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC). « ICANN veut entendre tous les segments de la communauté Internet, y compris les personnes individuelles qui pensent souvent qu'ils n'ont pas droit au chapitre dans la formation des politiques ». ALAC recherche quelqu'un ayant une perspective internationale étendue et une expérience dans les intérêts des utilisateurs d'Internet, les politiques de consommateur et/ou la société civile internationale. Le membre du Bureau At-Large aura une voix dans les nombreuses questions de ICANN aidant à définir l'organisation, comme :  L'expansion des domaines de haut niveau génériques (dTLD) – la portion de nom d'adresse web à la fin du nom d'adresse (par exemple, .com, .org, .asia, etc.). ICANN considère comment étendre au mieux la liste actuelle de 21 pour inclure une grande variété de noms et de mots.  Le guide d'implémentation des Noms de Domaine Internationalisés (IDN), permetatnt l'introduction de noms d'adresse Internet formés dans des langues non latines, où des scripts comme le chinois, le coréen ou l'arabe seront employés, doit être utilisé dans la dernière portion d'un nom d'adresse.  La transition de IPv4 vers IPv6. Ce changement dans les protocoles Internet va largement étendre le nombre d'adresses Internet mondiales disponibles, les adresses IPv4 se réduisant actuellement rapidement. « L'Internet est défini par sa capacité unique à donner la parole à chacun », a déclaré Langdon-Orr. « C'est une opportunité pour étendre ce concept d'inclusion au plus haut niveau de ICANN ». Dear All, The attached press release on the At-Large Board Seat is sent to you on behalf of Cheryl Langdon-Orr, Chair of the Board Candidate Evaluation Committee. Applicants Sought from Internet User Community for Seat on Board of Directors The ICANN group representing individual Internet users is calling for applications from those who may be interested in helping to develop policy while serving on the organization’s Board of Directors. ICANN’s At-Large community (representing individual Internet users) is undertaking a global search to fill a Board seat reserved for an Internet user who does not represent a particular government, corporate or non-profit entity. “This is all about providing a voice for the average everyday Internet user in the global non-profit organization charged with coordinating the Internet addressing system,” said Cheryl Langdon-Orr, the Chair of the At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC). “ICANN wants to hear from all segments of the Internet community, including the individuals who often simply feel they don’t have a voice in policy formation.” ALAC is looking for someone with a broad international perspective and a background in Internet users’ interests, consumer policy and/or civil society worldwide.
