After ICANN meeting in Buenos Aires, there was another meeting I took part in - which is Regional Internet Governance Forum in Baku - so, with the very hectic schedule I had, I am sending/sharing now with you the NomCom 2014 first report card. As you know, NomCom spent 2 days after the ICANN meeting in BA to have its kick-off meeting (November 22-23): several important aspects have been discussed/analysed and so, the NomCom 2014 could start its operations at a full speed:)! Submitting At-Large Travel Requests for ICANN's Community Regional Outreach Pilot Program (CROPP)

Dear All, ICANN has launched a Community Regional Outreach Pilot Program (CROPP) in which each of the 5 RALOs can apply for funding up to 5 "regional" outreach trips (up to three days, two nights) before the end of June 30 2014 (the end of Fiscal Year 2014). Similar to how RALO budget requests were reviewed by the ALAC Finance & Budget SubCommittee (FBSC) before submitting to ICANN Finance, an At-Large CROPP Review Team (CROPP RT) was established by the ALAC to: * review and approve RALO travel requests to the CROPP to ensure that the objectives of the travel requests are in line with ICANN’s strategic and regional engagement strategies as well as At-Large outreach strategies. * confirm with the relevant regional Stakeholder Engagement Vice Presidents that the purpose/goals of the travel request are consistent with ICANN’s strategic and regional engagement strategy. * submit the travel requests to ICANN once approved by the CROPP RT. RALOs should note the following terms and obligations as established by the ICANN's CROPP and those by the ALAC at https://community.icann.org/x/zC6fAg RALO leaders in coordination with their RALO's members of the Outreach SubCommittee (https://community.icann.org/x/cqfbAQ) wanting to submit travel requests are expected to complete the travel request form at https://community.icann.org/x/_S6fAg There will be an At-Large Briefing Session to discuss the CROPP and the process by which At-Large Travel Requests are sent to the At-Large CROPP Review Team. Call for Volunteers GNSO Policy Translation and Transliteration PDP Working Group In Brief The Generic Names Supporting Organization (GNSO) Council is seeking volunteers to serve on the PDP Working Group (WG) on Translation and Transliteration of Contact Information. This WG is expected to make recommendations to the GNSO Council on whether it is desirable to translate or transliterate contact information. In this context, translation is the process of conveying the meaning of text from on language into another; transliteration is the process of representing the characters of one alphabetical or syllabic system of writing by the characters of another, conversion alphabet. In such a situation, a country code Top Level Domain will be re-delegated without the consent of the incumbent ccTLD manager in cases where there are “persistent problems with the operations of the domain” and where there continues to be “substantial misbehavior” on the part of ccTLD managers despite the IANA Operator’s best efforts to stop the misconduct.
