This session is scheduled for 9:00-9:45. Mandy and Scott will be answering specific questions posed by At-Large community members. Dear Olivier: Allow me to forward to you, and to EURALO, a few preliminary comments on the draft ALAC statement. When I have had time to review all the references, including ATRT and Boston, I may post an appropriate comment to the formal ALAC List: Naturally, the broad intention of the proposed ALAC comments is positive and should be supported. However: 1. The text addresses the question of Board remuneration. It does not address the Conflict of Interest issues. 2. I am not comfortable with the text to the effect that: << ... the Chair being compensated at some multiple of the standard Directors' amount.>>. The primary objective should be that all Directors may be full-time and must be independent of their past or present employers, or constituency. To that effect, the level of Director compensation should be quite significant. Then, if the Chair is to be compensated by "some multiple", that might give rise to excessive amounts, unless it is made clear that the "multiple" may be a fraction (e.g. x 1.75). The election of the Chair of the Board will be delicate enough, without adding the incentive of disproportionate financial gain. 3. As matter of drafting, the two paragraphs that begin "Compensation of directors ... " are identical, and do not reflect that the second version has been "slightly reworded." Dear all, I would like to support application of Together-against-Cybercrime (TaC) from France. I met Julia Morenetz during first EuroDIG in Strasbourg, and since that time we have extremely active and useful cooperation. Together with Lee Hibbard Julia helped us to organize first EuroDIG remote participation hub in Ukraine, she participated in the First and Second Ukrainian IGF. Julia was born in Ukraine, but now she is an expert of the Council of Europe and European Commission. Such unique experience provides her with better insight of twists of Ukrainian legislation and regulation in IG. And we hope to use Julia's experience in self-regulation, especially on the local level. Best regards, Oksana

Whether you plan to participate in the upcoming ICANN meeting in Dakar remotely or in person, you're invited to a quick reminder of the background and current status of each major policy issue currently under discussion in ICANN. The ICANN Policy Staff will provide a briefing on Thursday 13 October at 12.00 UTC and Thursday 13 October at 19.00 UTC, summarizing policy issues across the different ICANN Supporting Organizations, namely the Generic Names Supporting Organization (GNSO), Country Code Names Supporting Organization (ccNSO) and Address Supporting Organization (ASO). Amongst other topics, updates will be provided on: * Uniform Dispute Resolution Policy Issue Report (GNSO) * Post-Expiration Domain Name Recovery (GNSO) * Recent WHOIS work * Study Group on Use of Names for Countries and Territories (ccNSO) * Framework of Interpretation Working Group for the delegation and re delegation of ccTLDs (ccNSO) * Joint DNS Security and Stability Analysis Working Group The two sessions are duplicates, scheduled to accommodate different time zones. Each session, scheduled to run for 90 minutes, will be conducted in English only. The meeting will be run in Adobe Connect with a slide presentation along with a dial-in conference bridge for audio. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions at the end of each session. During the course of the webinar, questions may be submitted using the chat function of Adobe Connect.
