Good afternoon: Allow me to draw your attention to the announcement of the composition and portfolios of the new European Commission from the point of view of Digital Economy and Society, the Internet and Internet Governance. http://ec.europa.eu/about/juncker-commission/commissioners-designate/index_… The Vice President of the Commission for the Digital Single Market will be Andrus Ansip (EE) The Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society will be Günther Oettinger (DE). In particular his responsibilities include: "Working with the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President to develop the relationship with strategic partners in order to build a global governance architecture for the Internet which is legitimate, transparent, accountable, sustainable and inclusive. This includes ensuring the Internet remains open, a driving force for innovation and an international resource that benefits the European economy and citizens." I am sure that more detailed reporting and analysis will emerge in the next few days. Meanwhile, I thought that you might welcome a 'heads up' as to these developments.. EURALO candidates for the BMSPC and BCEC

Dear all, as discussed this week at our monthly and the following Board call, our region needs to nominate two candidates for the BMSPC (Board member selection process committee) and the BCEC (Board candidates selection committee) each until today. At our Board call we selected some experienced and fresh members who could join one of these important committees and asked them for approval. I have the pleasure to announce that EURALO will be represented with the following members: For the BMSPC – Rudi Vansnick (ISOC-Belgium) and Oksana Prykhodko (European Media Platform, Ukraine). For the BCEC – Veronica Cretu (ind. member, Moldavia) and Jordi Iparraguirre (ISOC-Catalonia). Roberto Gaetano (ind. member, Austria) was selected as Chair of the BCEC already. This composition is well balanced from a gender and regional POV. I would like to thank all our candidates for their interest and willingness to serve on the two committees which are charged with proceedings and selection of the next At-Large member on the ICANN Board (Seat No. 15, currently held by Sébastien Bachollet). Dear All, We are very pleased to inform you that EURALO's FY16 Special Request<https://community.icann.org/display/atlarge/At-Large+FY16+Special+Budget+Re…> for a holding a face-to-face General Assembly during the ICANN 54 Meeting scheduled to take place 18-22 October in Dublin, Ireland, has been approved. The approved FY16 Special request was for one General Assembly either for EURALO or NARALO. NARALO has agreed that EURALO may use the General Assembly funding in FY16. The approved funding includes travel support, accommodation and a stipend for one representative from each EURALO ALS. The exact dates will be determined shortly. Formal Invitation and proposed Agenda for EURALO's Dublin GA

Dear all, as announced before, we would like to kindly invite you to EURALO’s next F2F General Assembly (GA) inline with the upcoming ICANN AGM in October in Dublin. This GA is convened for Wednesday, 21 October at the ICANN venue. Our next GA will be conducted in two parts – the timings are scheduled as follows: 10:30-12:00 = EURALO General Assembly Part 1 (content part on Public Interest) 12:00-14:00 = EURALO Lunch at external venue 15:45-17:30 = EURALO General Assembly part 2 (statutory part and elections) followed by 17:30-18:30 = European Coordination session, organized by Jean-Jacques Sahel, ICANN followed by 18:30-20:30 = a joint EURALO Networking and Outreach Event (a tough program as we are fully aware). According to our Bylaws, we have to circulate this formal Invitation three weeks prior to the event together with a proposed Agenda for the 2nd GA part (attached). This draft Agenda was discussed and decided during our last monthly calls and needs to be adopted at the GA itself. Any amendments are generally possible – BUT please keep in mind that the suggested items and time schedule are extremely tight already. Prior to the Dublin GA you will further receive - a copy of the EURALO Annual Report 2014-15 besides some more and relevant documents for our discussions. Dear All, The At-Large Social Media WG (https://community.icann.org/x/nIrhAg) is looking for EURALO volunteers to generate Social Media content during the ICANN 54th meeting in Dublin, Ireland from October 18-22, 2015. The volunteers will collaborate with At-Large Staff to push content in real time via Twitter (https://twitter.com/ICANN_AtLarge) and Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/icann.atlarge) during the ALAC/At-Large sessions (https://community.icann.org/x/Sac0Aw) The goal is to promote the activities of the At-Large/ALAC to the wider ICANN and Internet community. On Wednesday 3 June, the 'premiere' of the South Eastern Europe Dialogue on Internet Governance (SEEDIG) started with the first ever roundtable discussions taking place just before the start of EuroDIG, which itself was yet another success this year, with hundreds of participants, a flurry of exciting topics and increasingly strong discussions and outcome documents. This series of events and the formal birth of SEEDIG marked an important anniversary: It brought us back to just 12 months before, when a handful of ICANN 'regulars' from the region met informally during the ICANN 50 London meeting. We've all known for a while that the SEE community in ICANN is vibrant and full of dynamic, dedicated characters, but we all knew that more could be done to strengthen it. So we created what started as a simple mailing list: ICANN-SEE. It grew from an initial 10 members to close to 100 today, and has helped members exchange ideas, promote events, recruit speakers and panelists for public meetings, events and so on. The result? An increasingly growing number of activities, networks and contacts across the region, with events growing larger in attendance, from Belgrade to Bucharest, from Varna to SEEDIG in Sofia. Suffice to say, the simple mailing list grew to so much more. The dialogue between African registrars and registries started in Durban in 2013, with the Kenyan DNS Forum moving it to yet another level as other stakeholders in the DNS industry joined and shared their perspectives.
