Hi all. As most of you know, I have been always pushing for Universal Acceptance, including the deployment of IDN TLDs. I strongly believe that this is one of the game changers for reaching out to the next billion Internet users and giving equal opportunities for enjoying the benefits of online communication. There will be a working session at EuroDIG (https://www.eurodig.org<https://www.eurodig.org/>) on this topic on Wednesday 6 June - see the full programme at https://eurodigwiki.org/wiki/Consolidated_programme_2018. I have been appointed focal point for the session, and will therefore coordinate participation. I wonder whether there are any former Directors that are either directly interested or could indicate people within their respective networks who are interested in participating to the discussion on this topic and/or joining the session in Tbilisi. The first step would be to join the EuroDIG-WS6 mailing list, where the session on Universal Acceptance is being prepared. Dear All, On behalf of Maureen Hilyard, ALAC Chair, this is to announce that the application period for the third At-Large Summit (ATLAS III) scheduled to take place 4-7 November 2019 during ICANN66 in Montreal is open until 23:59 UTC on 31 May 2019. ATLAS III will be an assembly of the future leaders of At-Large, focused on developing and nurturing their abilities to become thought leaders and change agents who will effectively implement what has resulted from the At-Large Review Process. A total of 60 At-Large community members will be selected to participate in ATLAS III in addition to the regular At-Large leadership. Current and incoming At-Large leaders do not need to complete an application. IMPORTANT: All the key information that you will need to apply for participation in ATLAS III is available on the ATLAS III Application Guidelines<https://community.icann.org/display/ATLAS3/ATLAS+III+Application+Guidelines> Workspace. The application is divided into two parts. 1. The first part is critical as it assesses whether you belong to At-Large; you are already an active member within At-Large or in another section of ICANN, on behalf of At-Large; and you have completed a series of compulsory ATLAS III prep courses<https://community.icann.org/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=105389506> about ICANN and what it does. You will only qualify to move onto the second section if you answer these first questions appropriately. 2. Call for New Membership and Confirmation of current Membership | Re-convened ALAC Sub Committee on At-Large Metrics

Dear Members of At-Large, On behalf of Maureen Hilyard, ALAC Chair, and Cheryl Langdon-Orr, the current Chair of the ALAC Sub-committee on At-Large Metrics (SC on Metrics), a call for new membership and confirmation of current membership is being issued. The upcoming work of the SC on Metrics will focus on, amongst other things, the metrics requirements outlined in the At-Large Review Implementation Plan as outlined on the Issue #16 of the Recommendation Dashboard<https://community.icann.org/display/ALRW/Issue+16+Dashboard+and+Progress+Ch…>. We are seeking to have at least two formal Member representatives from the At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC) in addition to at least two regional members appointed as representative from each RALO. Additional Regional, ALS or Individual Membership involvement is also welcomed. For confirmation of current members, please see the List of current Membership<https://community.icann.org/display/atlarge/ALAC+Subcommittee+on+At-Large+M…>. Please check to see if your listed status is correct and advise staff if there is any error or omissions. At-Large Staff will then add or confirm your name in the list of Members, and prepare a doodle to arrange a meeting of the SC on Metrics. Background: The original ALAC Sub-committee on At-Large Metrics was originally created as part of the first ALAC / At-Large Improvements Project and approved by the ALAC at their February Meeting in 2012, as a part of the activities of the 'parent' Rules of Procedure (ROP) Review Work Group (see https://community.icann.org/x/RJPbAQ) which was designed to conduct a review of the ALAC Member and At-Large participation metrics, including RALO Member and ALS performance metrics / measures / reportage. It continued in its activities until a formal break in 2015 when the Sub-committee paused activity while the ALAC and At-Large were prioritizing their time-critical work in the CCWG on IANA Transition and Accountability, followed by the Second At-Large Review. In November 2018 this Sub-committee was re-convened to again carry out amongst other things the At-Large Review Implementation of identified Issue #16, which has been added to the previously defined primary purpose or prime objective(s). ALAC: Matthias Hudobnik NomCom: Erich Schweighofer Secretariat: Natalya Filina Chair: Sebastien Bachollet Regarding Nomcom position, Erich can be return and I think it Is a good practice to allow Nomcom members to do 2 years. It will be is last year and it will be good to take advantage of ATLAS III to find a futur « leader » from Euralo to join the Nomcom at the end of 2020. Regarding secretariat, Natalya as show an increasing involvement in Euralo and A-large activities since she participates to IGF Global in Paris. She will be able to grow in understanding our organisation if she can take this position. And Atlas III will also be a good opportunity. I must add that she is one of the few from Eastern Europe engage in our work and some gender balance is necessary. Regarding ALAC, Matthias also is more and more involved in Euralo and at-large activities. And Atlas III will also be a good opportunity. With Bastiaan (ALAC member since Feb 2017) and Joanna (NomCom appointe since end of 2018) ALAC member for one other year (at least) Matthias will be well supported. And I will also help him as long time participant in ALAC. Regarding Chair, I am ready to take this position to help the new leaders and future ones to be fully welcome in Euralo and At-large. Earlier this week, I have informed the EURALO Board that I am not planning to run for another term as EURALO Chair. I have now been chair for 4 years already. That is plenty of time and we need some change in EURALO leadership to continue moving forward, otherwise we'll be complacent and stagnate. In the meantime, I am concerned that whilst some people have told me by email that they are nominating other people, I would kindly remind everyone that nominations have to be made on the EURALO mailing list and will be recorded on the EURALO election page as they come in.
