Fellowship Application Round Opens for ICANN International Public Meeting 42 in Dakar, Senegal

Dear All, Please note the following announcement of the opening of the Fellowship Application Round for the 42nd ICANN meeting to be held in Dakar, Senegal 23-28 October: The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers is now accepting online applications for the 14th round of the Fellowship program. Successful candidates will participate in the ICANN meeting to be held in Dakar, Senegal 23-28 October 2011. The Fellowship program is open to applicants who are current residents of developing and least developed nations and interested in participating in ICANN and its supporting organizations, constituencies and stakeholder groups. Priority is given to individuals new to the ICANN environment from government and the ccTLD community, as well as those from academic, civil, business and non-profit entities, which are NOT involved in or associated with other ICANN supported travel programs. The program provides the support and opportunity for these participants to gain knowledge on how to have their voices heard in the Internet community and ICANN. Hi all, regarding Secretariat-Position, first I would like to thank Olivier for his great work! I would like to nominate Oksana Prykhodko, from the European Media Platform, Ukraine, for the Secretariat Postion. We should try to have a balance in EURALO's leadership functions regarding gender and regional equality. Oksana actively participated in EURALO and represents a new member from the Eastern part of our region and for sure will be of great help for outreach in this region in such a function. Chair: Wolf is already nominated, but Iwould also like to thank our Chair for his constant commitment and pushing our association into a rather prominent position in the user community. Board: I would like to add Bill Drake to our nominees - a very good candidate for helping us to build an ALS for individual members And finally, I woud like to thank Sebastian for keeping -as an ICANN Board member- close contact to his At-Large and EURALO community. Dear EURALO team, This is great step forward to involve individuals, at least for me this was one of the major issues not to be able to beeing fully involved in At-Large activities. I am sure that all other RALOs (if I am not mistaked NARALO also has this change included), particularly APRALO, where Armenia is a part of, also will do similar changes. Though I have no voting right for EURALO elections, I fully support the names mentioned by Sebastien, as these are the core team of people who constantly provide their time, efforts and knowledge to making the internet users' lives easier :) I am looking forward meeting you all soon in Belgrade. Dear all, as announced already with our 1st invitation to the EURALO GA in Belgrade, circulated 27 April 2011, we will conduct our next General Assembly in the eve of the European Dialogue on Internet Governance (EuroDIG) on Sunday, 29 May 2011, from 18:00 – 20:00, at the Sava conference Center in Belgrade. Voting results: EURALO Bylaw modifications

Dear all, I have the pleasure to announce to you the results of the voting on the EURALO Bylaw modifications which ended tonight. Out of total 27 members, 22 ALSes participated and casted their vote. And we reached a strong / representative score of participation again – thanks to all of you! The results are the following: *EURALO Bylaw changes 1: Suggested Modification regarding the inclusion of individual members* Accepted unanimously (with 22 out of 22 casted votes). *EURALO Bylaw changes 2: Suggested modifications on Term limits for Board members and Officers* Accepted 17, Objected 1 and Abstained 4 (what is a clear two-third majority out of 22 casted votes). *EURALO Bylaw changes 3: Suggested modifications to align EURALO Board and ALAC representative elections* Accepted unanimously (with 22 out of 22 casted votes). I think, the first result is a sounding political message and declaration that individual members are highly welcome to participate at EURALO under the defined option to create their own member ALS. And as stated before, the second result is an interim solution reflecting the necessary conditions for a proper and frictionless functioning of our association. I would like to thank all of you again for this remarkable proof of mobilisation and participation – what became an inreach feature of EURALO. The Bylaw modifications can now be formally approved at our upcoming GA next Sunday, 29 May in Belgrade (an invitation reminder will be posted separately on this list).
