First, congratulations to the whole people around EURALO, not only those who are elected, but participated, and maybe frustrated to some extent, but as someone wrote, you now have the outcome. I was elected as an ALAC from AP RALO in March before Lisbon meeting, from "interim" to more "legitimate" member, and now that we lost Vittorio, Wendy and kind of myself are only two "incumbents" squatting on ALAC. I am quite aware of this and looking for good rationale and also good exit. My rationale has been the quick and many turnovers, so many ALAC members have changed, giving some sort of instability, which is not all bad, but we at APRALO thought maintaining some stability be better. I am bit concerned that we may lose some "corporate memory" and that is another reason for me to stay. Given the ALAC review is coming, I think however radical we may try to change ALAC, and I am one of them to hope that to happen, I still like to share some lessons from the past, in order not to reinvent the wheels. Well, in any case, Thanks Vittorio for your many years of service especially as the first Chair, and for your hard work. Dear All: I'm pleased to report the results of the 2007 EURALO Elections. ALAC COMMITTEE: 2-year Term: CRETU, Veronica 1-year Term: BACHOLLET, Sebastian EURALO BOARD Number of Seats Chosen: All Candidates (from a selection by ballot of 5, 7, 9, or all candidates) Members Elected (in order of election, taking into account Bylaw requirement of nationality diversity with respect to first 5 seats) HOFMANN, Jeannette LUDWIG, Wolf BERTOLA, Vittorio DE QUITO, Paco MILOSHEVIC, Desiree BRUCH, Christophe BANKS, Karen DRAKE, Bill VANSNICK, Rudi Whilst Sebastian Bachollet and Veronica Cretu were also candidates for board seats, the elections process agreed on was that those elected to ALAC seats would not also occupy board seats, though they would be able to attend board meetings. My new blog

All, I have finally managed to set up a blog in English about ICANN and Internet Governance issues. I plan to use it to post my updates as a Board liaison (in addition to those given directly to the Committee) and for what regards the other processes I am involved in, to spread news and encourage discussion. Firstly, happy Birthday Wolfgang :) Secondly: Vittorio's long service has borne great fruit and I hope that a vote of congratulations and thanks will be the first order of business at the ALAC meeting in San Juan, and of the first EURALO board meeting :) Third: While a number of EURALO board members will be in San Juan, others will not - however, we can arrange a meeting and telephonic access to it, so that the first board meeting could be held in San Juan. Needless to say, we staff people will be happy to make all the necessary arragements. Voting Ends Tomorrow at Noon UTC

Dear Colleagues: As promised, I'm reminding you that the voting ends at 1200 UTC tomorrow. At the present, only three voters have not cast their vote. I have had the voting system send them a reminder and the codes and links again. The vote results will be announced as follows: 1) The results will be sent by email to the European email lists. 2) In that message, a link will be provided to the voting system, where a vote-specific URL will allow the results to be directly compared to the staff-published results. The details published will be quite granular in terms of what votes were received in what order of preference.
