Candidate statement of interest for the ALAC EURALO position

Dear all, please kindly see my candidate statement below: Thank you again for the nomination for the EURALO ALAC position. I am eager to continue my engagement with EURALO and will do my best to effectively represent European end user interests on the At Large Advisory Committee. I have had the opportunity to serve on the ALAC since 2018, initially appointed by the NomCom and then following your direct vote of support. I currently serve as ALAC Vice Chair for Outreach and Engagement and co-chair the Capacity Building Working Group within At-Large. Most recently I have been appointed the ALAC liaison to the GAC, a role I view as complementary to the work done thus far on the ALAC. Since my initial appointment I have done my best in supporting the At-Large leadership in advancing community interests, focusing on outreach and capacity building. Outside of my ICANN engagement I am a tenured adjunct professor of international law and internet governance at the University of Lodz in Poland, where I also head the Lodz Cyber Hub – a research center at the University of Lodz, dedicated to international law and Internet governance research and capacity building. I am a Scientific Committee member of the EU Fundamental Rights Agency and co-chair the Advisory Board of the Global Forum for Cyber Expertise. These engagements grant me a broad perspective on end user issues and needs in the multistakeholder environment within ICANN and beyond. If elected, I would like to focus on advancing the cross-community cooperation within ICANN, particularly by supporting European end users and ALSes in their interactions with other ICANN communities as well as with national authorities on all policy related matters. I also want to focus on advancing volunteer engagement, directly and effectively supporting newcomers to the community who can help us advance our mutual goals. Thank you for your consideration.
