Chris, This group was discussed during the last GNSO Council meeting and the Council would like to request 12 volunteer slots for the DSSA WG in order to allow for an equal number of slots for each group represented on the GNSO Council. The GNSO Council resolution acknowledged receipt of the document, "Recommendations to Develop a Global Outreach Program to Broaden Participation in the GNSO" [PDF, 74 KB] and directed Staff to post this document for forty-five (45) days in the ICANN Public Comment Forum. The GNSO Council shall take formal action on this document, including potential modification, as soon as possible after the conclusion of the public comment period. Background/Explanation: In October 2008, the GNSO Council established a framework for implementing the various GNSO Improvements http://www.icann.org/en/minutes/resolutions-26jun08.htm identified and approved by the ICANN Board of Directors on 26 June 2008. That framework included the formation, in January 2009, of two Steering Committees, the Operations Steering Committee (OSC) and the Policy Process Steering Committee (PPSC), to charter and coordinate the efforts of five community work teams in developing specific recommendations to implement the improvements. Preparation of the UDRP Issues Report

Dear All, I'd like to follow-up on Jeff's suggestion on today's Council call regarding discussing the UDRP at the GNSO Council's weekend session. I propose to provide you a brief overview of the format of the Issues Report, and then describe the issues that I have identified during my research on this topic. I envision this to be an opportunity to receive feedback from you regarding any additional issues to address, and any concerns related to scope. It would be very helpful to me if you would send me any links/documents to consider as a I research this topic prior to the SF/SV Meeting. As you can imagine, there is a lot of information available on the UDRP (over 300,00 hits on Google), and I want to make sure that my review is thorough, and reflects the breadth of viewpoints within the ICANN community.
