Statement of Interests I am the Director of Research and Innovation for Tucows Inc., an ICANN accredited registrar and internet services vendor. Tucows is a minority shareholder in Afilias LLC, with roughly an 8% shareholding. Neither Tucows, nor I, is in possession of, nor have access to Registry Sensitive or Registry Proprietary information as defined by any relevant registry operating contracts as a result of this relationship. Tucows provides consulting and application hosting services to other registrars and internet services providers. I am not an officer, director, consultant, or employee of any of these customer organizations nor am I specifically involved in providing services to them. Regarding issues report on IDNs

Hello Sophia, > I suppose the PDP public forum does not include the IDN at this point. Correct? We formally requested an issues report on IDN's in Vancouver. However we were informed that there was some other work going on via the President's committee and also work within the IAB that would help in the development of that report. I expect we should have the report for our meeting in Wellington, but as IDN's is a large and very specialised topic I don't see that being on the agenda for the meeting in Washington. Regarding availability of Council members for meeting/s later in February

Hello Glen, >From the recent postings by Council members, there seem to be several other international meetings being held in February that potentially would conflict with the possibility of holding a physical meeting. Please survey the members of Council to identify what dates they would be available either for a physical meeting or a pro-longed teleconference towards the second half of February/first half of March. This will help identify if we have a critical mass of participants, and form information for Council members to assist in making a decision under agenda item 4 of the next Council meeting. As mentioned earlier if a constituency is unable to have three Council members available for a committee meeting, than it would be possible to appoint alternates to represent them - but it would not be desirable for a constituency to need to entirely depend on non-Council members. Clarification of the purpose of meeting later in February 2006

Hello All, Note that the recent email discussions regarding purpose, date, location, and agenda of the meeting in February all relate to agenda item 4 of the next GNSO Council meeting. The agenda is online at: http://www.gnso.icann.org/meetings/agenda-6feb06.shtml We had an already scheduled teleconference for 21 February, but given the amount of work we have on I thought that a physical meeting of longer duration (e.g 2 days) would be a more effective way of making progress on our current work items. It looks like 21 Feb will not work for most Council members, so we have been trying to identify an alternative date that might work. Any decision in this area will be made at the next Council call on 6 Feb. The current work item for meeting later in February is: - PDP on new gTLDs being undertaken by a committee of the whole Council Also on the agenda for the 6 Feb 2006, is a discussion on whether to initiate a PDP on any issues identified in an issues report requested at our last meeting. This is the topic of agenda item 2. Depending on the outcome of agenda item 2, this will have an impact on the agenda of any meeting later in February. I hope that clarifies things as there have been many subsequent threads of discussion since the draft agenda was posted on 20 Jan 2006.
