Dear Councilors, We ran out of time for the AOB related to Accuracy during the Council’s September meeting, so I am providing a short update via the list. In the Council Accuracy Small Team’s Summary Report<https://gnso.icann.org/sites/default/files/policy/2025/draft/gnso-council-a…>, recommendation 3 provides, “The Council Accuracy Small Team recommends the creation of clear and user-friendly educational materials 3 that could be provided before, during, and after domain name registration to assist registrants in understanding (i) the importance of providing and maintaining accurate registration data through the lifecycle of their domain name(s), (ii) how their personal data is processed and protected, and (iii) the consequences of providing inaccurate data or not verifying email/phone under the required timeline. The Small Team does not prescribe how these materials are created, but recommends assembling a diverse and representative group of interested stakeholders to work together on developing the recommended content for the materials.” We wanted to let you know that at the request of the Registrar Stakeholder Group, ICANN org has been working on a one-page document to highlight the importance of maintaining accurate registration data for registrants that registrars, registrants, and the community can reference. This document should be ready in the coming weeks. We thought this may be a helpful starting point for the diverse and representative group (referenced in Rec. 3) to build upon. Thank you. SENT ON BEHALF OF LEON GRUNDMANN Dear GNSO Councillors, On 12 June 2024 the GNSO Council passed a resolution<https://gnso.icann.org/en/council/resolutions/2020-current#202406:~:text=%C…> requesting ICANN org to deliver a Policy Status Report covering two existing policies, as follows 1. The GNSO Council requests a Policy Status Report (PSR) for the Expedited [Expired] Domain Deletion Policy (EDDP)<https://www.icann.org/en/contracted-parties/consensus-policies/expired-doma…> and Expedited [Expired] Registration Recovery Policy (ERRP)<https://www.icann.org/en/contracted-parties/consensus-policies/expired-regi…>. 2. The GNSO Council notes immediate work is not needed on this PSR and would request either (i) delivery of the PSR or (ii) confirmation that work on the PSR has begun and an updated estimate on when the PSR should be delivered, in one (1) year from the passage of this motion. 3. The GNSO Council leadership directs GNSO Policy Support Staff to notify ICANN org Global Domains & Services of the request for a PSR on the EDDP and ERRP. On 15 May 2025, ICANN org confirmed to the GNSO Council that the work had started on the PSR, and that it had been published for Public Comment<https://www.icann.org/en/public-comment/proceeding/psr-on-expired-domain-de…> from 15 May 2025 - 30 June 2025. The review of the policies is now complete and the finalized PSR includes the Public Comments received. The PSR is aimed at assisting the GNSO Council and to aid it in determining whether the expiration policies require additional policy work.
