Deadlines Not Later Than: Activity Commences: 25 February 2025 Summer ICANN Meeting and/or dependency on new travel deadlines Announce Proposed Procedure and Timeline 27 June 2025 (ICANN84 funded traveler name submission deadline) T – 60 Days and/or dependency on new travel deadlines NomCom Selectees Announced SG/C New Council Members Announced House Nominee Selection 29 September 2025 T – 30 Days Houses Submit Nominees 11 October 2025 T – 18 Days Candidates Submit Statements 26 October 2025 T – 3 Days Candidate Meetings 29 October 2025 T Election Held at Annual General Meeting 31 October 2025 T + 2 Days Council informs the Board & Community and posts election results on the GNSO website Traditionally the timeline is built in keeping with GNSO Operating Procedures guidelines, but with the funded traveler submission deadline now being 120 days prior to the meeting (instead of 90 days), we have had to adapt the first two steps of the timeline. This now fits in with the 27 June 2025 as submission deadline for funded traveler names for ICANN84. The remaining steps however are in keeping with the GNSO Operating Procedures, counting back from the election date. Please let me know if you have any questions. Updated Prioritization Working Document

Dear Councilors, Attached, please find an updated work prioritization document. As was requested the last time this document was discussed by the Council, we have added educated guesses on what the next steps are for each area of work and based on those assumptions, we tried to assess a level of effort. In addition, we’ve also added a timeline graphic that tries to show how current and anticipated work lines up against each other, along with key inputs/dependencies related to the items in the prioritization matrix. I want to include some caveats to the things we’ve added, since this exercise is definitely more art than science. First, staff does not expect that we got the “What Could the Future Work Look Like” column precisely right in every instance, nor are we trying to get ahead of Council decisions. Second, please do not hold us to any of the dates we’ve included in the timeline graphic, other than for the Latin Diacritics PDP! While we recognize how useful it is to have a timeline graphic, there is a ton of guesswork involved; I’m not even sure I want to describe the dates as educated guesses! Despite the caveats, I hope this attached document proves useful to the Council’s work prioritization efforts during the upcoming September Council meeting. Hi Paul, In my years supporting the Council, I do not recall the Council ever providing comment to a Preliminary Issue Report. The public comment period for the Preliminary Issue Report is really for the broader community to share input with the staff that have drafted that report, who then takes it into account and makes revisions as necessary for the Final Report. The Council is then well positioned to consider the Final Issue Report, inclusive of feedback received, and determine the appropriate next steps. As for timeline to prepare the Final Issue Report, the answer is that it depends on the volume and complexity of public comments received. The PDP Manual provides staff with 30 days from the close of the public comment period to prepare the summary and analysis and the Final Issue Report (along with the potential for an extension). However, hopefully it is evident so far that your staff team is trying to complete things as expeditiously as possible! The Review of Reviews Cross Community Group (RoR CCG) is being established as a follow-up to the Pilot Holistic Review (PHR) Team’s proposal to fulfill a one off evaluation of the full set of reviews and assess the need for change to ICANN's structures. 2. On 30 July 2025, the final version of the draft Charter<https://www.icann.org/en/system/files/correspondence/reynoso-to-sinha-30jul…> for a CCG to oversee and coordinate efforts relating to this matter was delivered by Alejandra Reynoso, the ccNSO Chair, to Tripti Sinha, the ICANN Board Chair. 3. According to the draft Charter, the CCG is open to members nominated by Nominating Groups, including ICANN’s SOs and ACs, where each Nominating Group may propose nominees for membership in the group in accordance with their own rules and procedures on the explicit understanding that there will be only a maximum of two (2) per Group. 4. On 5 August 2025, the GNSO announced a Call for Expressions of Interest (EOI)<https://gnso.icann.org/en/announcements/announcement-05aug25-en.htm> to solicit two (2) volunteers to fill the roles of members to the RoR CCG, which closed on 11 August 2025. 5. On 14 August 2025, the GNSO Council approved the Charter for the RoR CCG and tasked the GNSO Standing Selection Committee (SSC) with reviewing the applications and recommending two (2) candidates as the members for the RoR CCG, at least one of whom should be a GNSO Council Member. 6. On 20 August 2025, the SSC convened to review and deliberate on the five (5) applications received—three (3) of them Councilors—taking into account the selection criteria outlined in the announcements. 7. On 8 September 2025, the SSC submitted its Full Consensus recommendation to the GNSO Council, by way of submission of the relevant motion. 8. The GNSO Council considered the recommendation of the SSC. RESOLVED, 1. The GNSO Council confirms Sophie Hey and Osvaldo Novoa as the two (2) members of the RoR CCG. 2. The GNSO Council asks the GNSO Secretariat to inform the GNSO-appointees that they have been selected. 3. The GNSO Council asks the GNSO Secretariat to send a response to those applicants who were not appointed, thanking them for their interest and encouraging them to apply for future opportunities as they arise.
