Regards, Keith ————————————— Dear EPDP WG members, As you approach your in-person meeting in Toronto next week, I wanted to take this opportunity to acknowledge the substantial work and sacrifice you all have made over the last several months, and to encourage your continued constructive engagement in working towards a consensus policy recommendation. As the manager of the GNSO policy development process and this Expedited PDP, the GNSO Council is keenly aware of the intensity and complexity of your work and the unique and challenging circumstances imposed by the Temporary Specification’s May 2019 expiration. Your ongoing work is unprecedented in ICANN and GNSO policy-making history, and your dedication and continued contributions are both apparent and very much appreciated. In acknowledging the deadline imposed by the Temp Spec and the necessary timelines in your EPDP project plan, I recognize the importance of your upcoming face-to-face meeting. In observing the work of the EPDP, I’ve noted how productive the in-person engagements have been, and I am confident your Toronto meeting will be no different. As you all know, this session comes at a critical time for your work and the timely delivery of a consensus policy recommendation to the GNSO Council and ultimately to the ICANN Board for approval. In the spirit of our multi-stakeholder, bottom-up, consensus-based policy-making process, I encourage each of you to take this opportunity to continue working together collaboratively and collegially in reaching a timely consensus recommendation. I am confident your work product will be an example of the ICANN community’s ability and capacity to deliver under challenging circumstances, and proof of the value of our multi-stakeholder model. Last Call -- Draft GNSO Response to ICANN Board on EPDP

Hi all, Attached is an updated draft GNSO Council response to the ICANN Board's 14 November letter concerning the EPDP, and specifically requesting an update on possible back-up plans. I previously circulated a draft on 26 December and received one request to avoid enumerating any specific back-up plan considerations. I have removed those in the attached letter, other than where we refer to the EPDP Initial Report language. I also added some other general text. Rafik, Pam and I are all in agreement this letter is ready to go. I plan to send this before the end of the week to ensure it is received before the EPDP WG meets F2F next week. We are late in our response to Cherine and the Board, so please review this ASAP. I will send COB Thursday. Thanks for your attention! Best, Keith

Dear All, As noted on the call earlier today, an updated draft operating standards for specific review has been published for public comment (see below). As you may recall, the GNSO Council provided input on the original version (see https://mm.icann.org/pipermail/comments-reviews-standards-17oct17/2018q1/00…) A small drafting team may want to review how the Council’s input was addressed and/or any other items that may need to be considered. Rafik has already volunteered to participate – are there any other Council members interested to assist in this regard? IMPORTANT Update / Travel Update: CBP Reminds Travelers to Allow 72 Hours for ESTA

Hi all, Foreigners flying to the United States from visa-waiver countries must now apply for ESTA at least 72 hours out; no more day-of-flight approvals. Please plan accordingly for your upcoming trip to the United States with this new regulation. Due to changes in ESTA application processing, real-time approvals will no longer be available. Citizens of participating Visa Waiver Program (VWP) countries traveling to the United States are strongly encouraged to apply for an ESTA at the time of booking their trip and no later than 72 hours prior to departure. Applicants who apply on the same day of their flight's departure risk not having an approved ESTA prior to their scheduled departure.
