We will review these topics and identify those that the Council would want to propose for discussion, and identify topics leads. The topic(s) for the discussion with the ICANN Board are due by 9 September. The Board has suggested spending half of the scheduled time to discuss "What collaborative actions should the Community, Board and Org be undertaking to further progress achieving our strategic priorities?", with the other half of the time dedicated to the Council's selected topic. The ALAC has suggested the following two topics: * The GNSO Council Small Team on DNS Abuse's work; and * The terms of reference for the proposed pilot Holistic Review, being a recommendation of the ATRT3. The following are potential topics for the GAC bilateral (where I included additional notes from Jeff's July call with the GAC Point of Contact, another one being schedule just before our August call.): SSAD light: In theory, ICANN should have put out its proposal for SSAD light by ICANN 75, so this is likely to be a hot topic. Essentially, the discussion would focus on next steps. Subsequent Rounds of New gTLDs Closed Generics: If not done prior, it may be a good idea to have the first (or second) meeting of the small joint closed generics teams in a face-to-face setting. GGP on applicant support: status of the preparatory work DNS Abuse Small team progress report - The GAC would like to know where the small team stands and "whether there has been any progress" State of play in general - In its Communique, the GAC expressed several ideas on how to progress the discussion and would like to know the GNSO's views. Accuracy State of play - GAC and GNSO Council to discuss any potential developments on accuracy matters, if applicable. Dear All, On behalf of Michael Palage, Chair of the Registration Data Accuracy Scoping Team, I am hereby submitting the team’s write up for assignment #1 and #2 to the Council. As per the Council’s instructions, the Scoping Team is putting forward its recommendations related to assignment #2 (measurement of accuracy) for Council consideration. The group expects that data gathered through a registrar survey and a possible registrar audit may help further inform the team’s work on assignment #3 (effectiveness) and #4 (impact & improvements), recognizing that additional proposals to measure accuracy may emerge once ICANN org’s outreach to the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) concludes. Please note that some groups have indicated that they may be providing the Council with a statement in relation to this write up – such statements should be received and transmitted to Council by 14 September at the latest. The team is aware that the Council may need some time to digest this write up, the recommendations and any accompanying statements before being able to give its support to proceed as recommended. However, the team would like to take advantage of the meeting at ICANN75 that had already been scheduled a while ago to see if it can informally start discussions on the registrar survey and a possible registrar audit, unless there is Council concern about doing so. GNSO/GAC dialogue on closed generics: selection of GNSO participants

Dear SG/C leaders, Hope this email finds you all well. As you know, following an invitation from the Board, the GNSO and the GAC will enter into a dialogue to "formulate a workable framework to identify and handle closed generic applications for the immediate next round of new gTLDs", and in this dialogue we will be joined by ALAC. Council leadership would like to invite each Stakeholder Group to select a representative for this dialogue. This group is would ideally have a first informal meeting during ICANN 75, so we would appreciate if you would let us know the name of your representative ideally by September 19th. The attached document provides the guidance for this appointment. I would finally like to draw your attention to the spirit of involvement in this effort: * the framework discussion will focus on options other than the two endpoint positions (i.e. no closed generics at all; closed generics without restrictions) as per the Board's Proposed Parameters for Dialogue * the participants will "contribute as independent individuals, bringing their individual experiences and expertise, and not serve as representatives of their respective community organization(s). The participants must commit to focusing on successfully developing a framework for closed generics, even if the end product is inconsistent with the goals or priorities of the participant or the participant's SO/AC/SG/C."
