Here is a link to Manju’s request: https://lists.icann.org/hyperkitty/list/council@icann.org/thread/A5XCOJLEXN… With no feedback so far, the Leadership is taking this as a signal that the EPDP-IDNs Team has the approval from the Council to begin implementing the noted recommendations, even though the Council has not yet voted on the report. If agreed, Manju Chen, as the Council liaison to the Team, will communicate this to the EPDP-IDNs Team unless we hear an objection by Monday, 26 August 21:00 UTC. ICANN Strategic Plan

Dear Councilors, During our August meeting, I noted the currently open public comment period for ICANN's Draft Strategic Plan and Operating Plan Framework for FY26-30<https://www.icann.org/en/public-comment/proceeding/draft-icann-strategic-pl…>. Strategic Objective 1.1 is "Evolve and promote ICANN's multistakeholder model to sustain its inclusive Internet governance model". In particular, the Council should be aware of Strategic Goal 1.2: Enhance the Agility and Effectiveness of Policy and Advice Development. This goal implicates the activities of the GNSO and is currently categorized as "Strategic Intensity, Heightened Attention". It is unknown at this stage what the level of effort might be in order to achieve this goal. In response to the current categorization, the Council may want to highlight its commitment to continuous improvement over the years, and accordingly, the Strategic Goal could be more appropriately categorized as "Incremental Improvements, Moderate Attention". Given the particular relevance of this Strategic Goal to the GNSO's work, it would be beneficial to submit a public comment from the GNSO Council. The deadline for public comments is 17 September 2024. If you would like to volunteer to assist Council leadership in drafting the comment, please let us know by Tuesday, 20 August. Thanks, Greg

The 3rd resolve clause instructed staff to implement the final survey based on the tool technical requirements. This notice is to inform you that it is now complete. The GNSO Council adopts the CCOICI Working Group Self-Assessment Recommendations Report<https://gnso.icann.org/sites/default/files/policy/2023/correspondence/chen-…>. 2. The GNSO Council directs GNSO Staff Support to implement the changes as outlined in the Recommendations Report and convey the survey tool technical requirements as outlined in section F to the relevant ICANN org department. 3. The GNSO Council instructs ICANN staff to post the new version of the GNSO Operating Procedures, effective immediately upon adoption. 4. The GNSO Council thanks the CCOICI for its work on this topic. The Operating Procedures were updated last year, but as a final part of implementation was to construct the survey into the final target platform, Survey Monkey. As part of that effort, staff did have to make a slight adjustment to the scales that varies as outlined in the report. At the time, Google Forms was used. Since the adoption of the report, ICANN org has adopted Survey Monkey (SM) as its single enterprise tool for community based surveys. As a result, the SM templates for this question feature type using a scale “1=Highly Ineffective to 7=Highly Effective” was only available via a scale of 1 to 5 slots. The link below is the version we used for the active Transfer Policy Review WG. It will be used again early next year when the group sends its final report to the Council.
