Hi all, As a reminder, the Council passed a motion on the Rec6 CWG at the Cartagena meeting and resolved that: "each Stakeholder Group and constituency provide feedback as soon as possible to the Council, on the CWG recommendations". Rec6 CWG

Councillors, As you know Chuck Gomes has been co-chairing the Rec6 CWG since it started. Chuck has contacted me to let me know that he would be willing to continue in this role. I do not see any reason to change the CWG's current leadership and value Chuck's experience with the group. I have therefore asked Chuck to continue in his role as co-chair if he is so willing. I am working on the agenda for our next Council meeting and the two Cartagena Board resolutions that referenced the GNSO will be included in that agenda as discussion items. There's res8, as you mention, and res6, where the Board is asking that Resolved (2010.12.10.30), the ICANN Board requests advice from the ALAC, GAC, GNSO and ccNSO on establishing the definition, measures, and three year targets for those measures, for competition, consumer trust and consumer choice in the context of the domain name system, such advice to be provided for discussion at the ICANN International Public meeting in San Francisco from 13-18 March 2010. There's actually very little time for us to start working on this and be ready by SF. As people wind down from the Cartagena meeting, it's possibly not the best time to start looking at these two action items right now. FY12 Ops Plan Budget Development information

All, As referenced in today's GNSO wrap up session, attached is a presentation from ICANN on the process for community input to developing the Fiscal Year 2012 budget. ICANN staff gave this presentation to the Stakeholder Groups and Constituencies during the Cartagena meeting, and so I also want to make sure that the Council is aware of the details and the deadline of the end of January for input. We suggest that the Council consider whether there is input that the Council might want to provide related to GNSO policy work in addition to the needs and requests of the Stakeholder Groups and Constituencies.
