Music Night in Seoul

JIG WG - Your input still needed!!!!

Dear Councillors, Thanks to all of you who contributed with some feedback regarding the setup of the JIG Working Group. Following people were mentioned as candidates for full members: Chinese: Jian Zhang, .cn AP Chinese/Tamil: Han Chuan Lee, .sg AP Korean: Young-Eum Lee, .kr AP Cyrillic: Andrei Kolesnikov, .ru EU Arabic: Fahd Batayneh, .jo AP Hebrew: Doron Shikmoni, .il This means we have six candidates to five (full member) seats. However, Young-Eum Lee could, in her capacity of being a ccNSO vice-chair, be treated as an "ex-officio" member. According to the JIG WG charter (http://ccnso.icann.org/workinggroups/jiwg.htm) "The chairs of the ccNSO and the GNSO, or somebody they appoint as an alternate, will be ex?officio members of the WG." If this is OK with you, then I would suggest to approve the aformentioned names as our full members to the JIG Working Group. Can I have your input on this please? It would be really good to have this resolved before the Seoul meeting, so please, let me have your feedback by tomorrow, Thursday!!! FYI - These are the other volunteers which were not considered as full members: Fahd Batayneh, .jo AP Chamara Disanayake, lk AP Yeo Yee Ling, .my AP (Erick Iriarte wanted to participate as an obeserver on behalf of LACTLD) Kind regards, Gabi

I do agree with Young-eum . I also support Lee hanchuan’s candidacy. Singapore is using both Chinese and Tamil as official languages, so he’s pretty familiar with the issues in these two languages. Also in our charter, variants issue will be the one of main issues we need resolve, he should have better understanding on this issue too. His contribution will be useful for our work.
