Dear Councillors, I am writing in my capacity of the Chair of the Guidelines Review Committee (GRC). As you might remember in Buenos Aires the ccNSO Council answered the plea of the GRC to launch a call for additional volunteers. The call was closed on 16 July. We have 7 excellent candidates: Joke Braeken, .eu Stephen Deerhake, .as Dejan Djukic, .rs Ben Fuller, .na Alejandra Reynoso, .gt Mirjana Tasic, .rs David McAuley, .cc The current members of the GRC will be happy to welcome new members as soon as possible. Therefore I'd like to ask the Council to consider the list of volunteer names and appoint the members. If you have any objections, please respond by Friday, 18.00 UTC. Thank you! Upcoming Public comments periods and webinars related to IANA Stewardship Transition

Dear all, Please find included a pre-announcement for the launch of two public comment periods one with respect to the IANA Stewardship Transition Process and and the other to the related Accountability Process. The full overview of current status and upcoming events can be found at: https://www.icann.org/news/blog/volume-8-an-update-on-iana-stewardship-disc… ICG The IANA Stewardship Transition Coordination Group (ICG) has announced recently that it intends to launch the public comment period for the Interim Final Proposal to Transition the Stewardship of the IANA Functions on 31 July, with an end date of around 8 September. The ICG will hold webinars at the beginning of the public comment period to provide an overview of the proposal. CCWG Accountability The CCWG-Accountability also plans to publish the second version of its proposal for a 40-day public comment beginning 31 July and ending 8 September 2015. FW: Report to Council in terms of CCWG Charter

Dear Colleagues, As I am sure you are aware, the CCWG is conducting face to face meetings today and tomorrow in Paris (https://community.icann.org/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=53778863 ). They have a significant amount of work to get through and appear to have tried to streamline some of it by modifying a standard process. One of our representatives, Dr. Eberhard Lisse, has raised an objection to this process modification at the meeting. He also requested that I share is concerns with the Council. I have raised in the room (and had on the mailing list while in transit) because 1) it was sprung on us by the Co-Chairs late, while most attending where in fact in transit instead of being decided by the members in two readings (well) in advance; and 2) it is an unheard of attempt at circumventing the two reading rule; and 3) the call for this F2F was short notice when many members already had made other arrangements, such as vacation; some of them now being represented by individuals not having previously participated in the CCWG, I for one do not even know the ccNSO alternate Maarten Simon. There are however at least 23 members and/or alternates present in the room as I write this. I objected against it for the record, as the sole objector. greetings, el

Proposed new member ccNSO travel funding committee ( Victor Abboud stepping down from Council)

Dear all, As you will have noted Victor has stepped down as a member of the ccNSO Council. One of his roles was membership of the ccNSO travel funding committee ( the other members are Dotty and Katrina). As this committee will deal with the travel funding application for Dublin shortly this Council committee will need to be quorate again as soon as possible.
