Dear all, Following the e-mail below, you were asked to appoint the ccNSO representative on the FY2018 NomCom. Those council members who are eligible to vote were invited to rank the 4 candidates in order of preference. The most preferred candidate ranks number 1, the next one number 2 etc. If you believed a candidate did not meet the requirements, you were invited not include that person in your list. Closing date for the voting to select a volunteer to serve on ICANN’s Nominating Committee (NomCom) on behalf of the ccNSO was last Friday, 28 July at 17 UTC. Please note that candidates may self-nominate. Please also note that you are required to be associated with a ccTLD manager. Conference calls are held more frequently (typically weekly) during this time as well. * The person must be able to attend the NomCom selection meeting in late June 2018. * The person should be willing to work in a large, consensus-oriented committee. ICANN Seeking Mentor for Global Indigenous Ambassador Program

Dear all, ICANN announced a call for a volunteer to serve as a mentor for the Global Indigenous Ambassador Program. ICANN announced[icann.org]<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.icann.org_news_ann…> the creation of the Global Indigenous Ambassador Program in June 2017. The program establishes two Indigenous Ambassadors, which will be selected from underrepresented indigenous communities. Through the inclusion of a broader and more diverse base of knowledgeable constituents, ICANN will be better equipped to support the next generation of the global Internet community. ICANN is now accepting applications for anyone interested in serving as a mentor for the two Global Indigenous Ambassadors. Mentors must be familiar with ICANN and At-Large, and have been active in one of the constituencies. Successful Candidates Announced for ICANN60 Fellowship

Dear all, ICANN announces 60 individuals from 50 countries selected to participate in ICANN's Fellowship program at the 60th Public Meeting in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, from 28 October - 3 November 2017. These successful candidates represent all sectors of society including; civil, government, ccTLD operations, academia, business community, technical, security, and end user groups. The Fellowship program seeks to create a broader and more diverse base of knowledgeable constituents with priority given to candidates currently living in underserved and underrepresented communities around the world, those who represent diversity of gender, sector, region, experience, expertise, and/or have established financial need. An independent selection committee assessed the 512 Fellowship applications received for this meeting. ICANN Publishes Findings of ICANN59 Community Feedback and By the Numbers Reports

Dear all, ICANN published the results of the ICANN59 participant survey, and the technical, demographic, and attendance statistics. There are two reports: the Community Feedback report and the By the Numbers report. These reports summarize the findings from ICANN's second Public Forum Meeting of the new meeting strategy<https://meetings.icann.org/en/future-meeting-strategy>. These reports are part of ICANN's commitment to transparency. By the Numbers Report highlights include: * 1,353 checked-in participants, with 498 listing their region as Africa * 33% of attendees participating for the first time * 236 sessions held, for a total of 423 hours * Top three sessions by attendance: * General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and its Potential Impact: Looking for Practical Solutions * Cross-Community Discussion on Next-Generation gTLD Registration Directory Services (RDS) Policy Requirements * Who Sets ICANN's Priorities? * 39,729 schedule website page views * 8.2 terabytes of data as network traffic The goal is to improve on the feedback and statistics we collect, and to look for trends by comparing meeting data over time. Call for volunteers ----------------------------------- Dear all, In accordance with the ccNSO Guideline: Appointment of delegate to the Nominating Committee (http://ccnso.icann.org/workinggroups/appointment-nomcom-delegate-05nov08.pdf) the ccNSO Council is now looking for a volunteer to serve on ICANN’s Nominating Committee (NomCom) on behalf of the ccNSO. Please note that candidates may self-nominate. Please also note that you are required to be associated with a ccTLD manager. If you are interested in serving in this position, please, send an email to the ccNSO Secretariat (ccnsosecretariat(a)icann.org) and include a short motivation why you wish to serve on the NomCom. Closing date for nomination is Friday 21 July 2017, 17.00 UTC. The list of candidates will be presented to all ccNSO Councillors who are eligible to vote. Councillors will then take a decision by email vote. Under the 1 October 2016 Bylaws the NomCom is an independent committee tasked with nominating eight members of the Board of Directors and other key positions within ICANN's structure. The 2018 NomCom will select Directors of the ICANN Board, member(s) of the ALAC, member(s)of the GNSO Council, 1 member of the ccNSO Council. CRITERIA FOR SELECTION OF NOMINATING COMMITTEE DELEGATES Delegates to the ICANN Nominating Committee shall be: 1. Accomplished persons of integrity, objectivity, and intelligence, with reputations for sound judgment and open minds, and with experience and competence with collegial large group decision-making; 2. Persons with wide contacts, broad experience in the Internet community, and a commitment to the success of ICANN; 3. Persons whom the selecting body is confident will consult widely and accept input in carrying out their responsibilities; 4. Persons who are neutral and objective, without any fixed personal commitments to particular individuals, organizations, or commercial objectives in carrying out their Nominating Committee responsibilities; 5. Persons with an understanding of ICANN's mission and the potential impact of ICANN's activities on the broader Internet community who are willing to serve as volunteers, without compensation other than the reimbursement of certain expenses; and 6. Persons who are able to work and communicate in written and spoken English.” All FY 2018 NomCom members should be able to attend the first formal meeting of the 2018 NomCom in Abu Dhabi, United Emirates (during or around ICANN 60). Travel and hotel accommodation will be provided. In addition: * NomCom delegates should have a high-level network of contacts essential to candidate recruitment * The person should be able to join monthly teleconferences (typically 13:00 or 14:00 UTC). Note that the committee's workload will increase significantly during Apr/May/June 2018 when the candidate assessment process will be at its busiest. Conference calls are held more frequently (typically weekly) during this time as well. * The person must be able to attend the NomCom selection meeting in late June 2018. * The person should be willing to work in a large, consensus-oriented committee.
