ccNSO Youtube channel

Dear all, We're pleased to announce that we have opened a ccNSO Youtube channel: www.youtube.com/ccnso At the moment you will find three contributions there: From .cr, .nz and the ccNSO Secretariat. We do hope, however, that we will get many more contributions from you over the time! The thought behind this initiative is to give the ccTLD community a chance to learn to know each other better in a more personal way, even in between meetings. The idea came up whilst we conducted interviews with community members regarding a ccNSO website redesign. Since we frequently heard that it would be nice to get a more "personal touch", we thought this is the best solution we can find right now. It would be great if your ccTLD also could find some time to produce a short clip which we can upload on this channel. The idea is that it should be between 1-3 minutes and it should say a little about you, your ccTLD and perhaps your involvement in the ccNSO (however, non-members are most welcome to contribute too!). Once you have filmed something, please contact us and we will let you know how to upload it, alternatively we can do it for you. We hope you like it! Kind regards, Gabi & Kristina

Commenting on the need for increased trust in the Internet, one of the examples given "If foreign governments do not trust the Internet governance systems, they will threaten to balkanize the Domain Name System which will jeopardize the worldwide reach of the Internet." Call for volunteers to Tech Working Group

Dear all, The ccNSO Tech Working Group is now looking for volunteers to join the group. The Working Group is working on a broad range of issues: It is in charge of organising the Tech Days during the ICANN meetings; it is liaising with IANA and the IETF; it is documenting ccTLD technical and operational and solutions and is also working towards publishing a handbook for ccTLDs with potentially appropriate examples for adoption by ccTLDs. The working group has occasional telephone (or VoIP) conferences and face-to-face meetings at every ICANN meeting. A detailed description of the activities can be found in the Working Group charter at http://ccnso.icann.org/workinggroups/tech-wg-charter-28oct09-en.pdf More information about the working group can be found at http://ccnso.icann.org/workinggroups/techwg.htm Should you wish to join the Tech Working Group, please let me know by the 3 March 2010.
