You may recall that ICANN published a Plan for Enhanced Internet Security, Stability & Resiliency in May 2009 as a baseline document (http://www.icann.org/en/announcements/announcement-2-21may09-en.htm) The updated document reflects developments since the initial SSR Plan was published and activities for the FY 11 operating cycle. I am available to answer any questions that may come up regarding this document, either from the ccNSO or others in the ccTLD community. Interested members of the community are encouraged to review and provide feedback once the comment period is open. The Internet Governance Forum (IGF) is an important example of this work. The IGF is a platform for discussions on Internet issues, in an open, inclusive, non-negotiating, and non-decision making environment. The mandate of the IGF includes, among other things, to discuss public policy issues related to key elements of Internet governance in order to foster the sustainability, robustness, security, stability and development of the Internet. For ICANN, likeminded governments, the Internet community, civil society, and the private sector, the IGF has been an effort to reinforce the multi-stakeholder approach, and provide something that is open to all participants. The initial proposal creating the IGF was for the meeting to be held annually for 5 years. This is the last year in that 5 year period. The IGF will be held this week in Vilnius Lithuania from 14-17 September. ICANN staff and Board members will be participating. Remote participants will be able to interact with the meeting by sending text questions, using the remote participation platform (Webex). These questions will be forwarded to the panel moderator when he/she opens the floor for questions from the audience. Hubs are also encouraged to send short pre-recorded video questions or statement (2-3 min) outlining key issues on the local discussion agenda. If possible, hubs will be allowed to join with real-time video message. The links to access each meeting room will be provided before the IGF. Dear all, The ccNSO Programme Working Group has now started its work on the agenda of the ccNSO meeting in Cartagena 7-8 December 2010. Much of the work is lead by the input received in the survey straight after the Brussels meeting (see http://ccnso.icann.org/meetings/brussels/evaluation.htm) however, the working group is still seeking further guidance from the community: If you have any particular session you would like to see covered during the Cartagena meeting, please let us know. If your registry is undergoing any new developments or projects which you would like to share with the community, please also let us know. NomCom selections for leadership positions within ICANN

Dear all, ICANN's Nominating Committee has announced its selection for seven leadership positions within ICANN. Amongst these, there are three new ICANN directors: Cherine Chalaby, Egypt; Bertrand de La Chapelle, France; Erika Mann, Germany And one new ccNSO Councillor: Sokol Haxhiu, Albania All will start their term at the end of the ICANN meeting in Cartagena on the 10th December.
