ccNSO Application for Membership (.bf)

Dear fellow councilors, We have received an application for ccNSO membership from .bf, the cc for Burkina Faso. The application was filed by Serge Roland Sanou, representing the manager for .bf, ARCEP (Autorité de Régulation des Communications Electroniques et des Postes). I refer to IANA's "all clear" below and request you to inform me of any objections to .bf's membership prior to next week's Council Meeting in Dakar on Wednesday 26 October. Dear all, The Framework of Interpretation (FoI) Working Group Interim Report is now open for public comments: http://www.icann.org/en/announcements/announcement-12oct11-en.htm Public comments are welcome until 1 December 2011. The FoI Working Group is developing a "Framework of Interpretation" for the delegation and re-delegation of ccTLDs. This framework is meant to guide IANA and the ICANN Board on how to interpret the current policies and guidelines on the delegation and redelegation of ccTLDs. This public comment period is especially seeking your input on the Working Groups's methods on their analysis of "consent". Kind regards, Gabi

Councillor volunteers needed please

Hi, I am looking forward to seeing many of you again in Dakar. In our preparation call earlier today, we noted that we are in need of session Chairs for some of the agenda items of our forthcoming meeting. Please could I ask you to each consider volunteering to assist, particularly if you have not been able to be very active in the Council as yet. If you volunteer, you will be asked to Chair the session for that item, which includes introducing the item and any speakers, chairing questions and answers (where relevant) and ensuring that the session does not over-run. For those that might find Chairing a bit scary, I assure you that it an enjoyable experience and good personal development.
