Updated Agenda + Adobe/Confluence Wiki training

Dear all, The ccNSO meetings agenda for the Dakar meeting has undergone several updates: http://www.ccnso.icann.org/meetings/senegal/agenda.htm (further updates are likely to take place closer to the meeting, so please check the agenda regularly!) I would also like to draw your attention to a workshop which my colleague Kristina Nordström will host on Monday 16.00 17.30 in the ³Big Amphitheatre². Kristina will demonstrate how to use the Adobe Connect tool, which we are using for remote participants during our meetings and more and more often during our working group meetings. Furthermore, she will also teach how to use a Wiki tool called "Confluence". We are already using it for some or our working groups, but we are planning to shortly start up a larger closed Wiki section on our website. In order to understand how to best use it, we would like to welcome the ccTLD community members to come and learn more about its functions, as well as the thought behind the closed Wiki space. Board Nominations Results

Dear all, The nomination period to select a ccNSO representative to the ICANN Board ended last week. The current board member, Mike Silber, was the only candidate to be nominated and seconded (see http://forum.icann.org/lists/ccnso-boardnominations) Mike has accepted his nomination and the ccNSO Council now needs to confirm the nomination at their next meeting (26 October 2011). Dear all, As described in earlier postings, the Variant Issues Project has conducted six case studies of individual scripts to investigate any issues that need to be resolved to facilitate a good user experience for IDN variant TLDs. Message from Ron Sherwood

(Sent on behalf of Ron Sherwood (ccNSO/ALAC liaison) Ron wishes to advise his dear colleagues and friends that sadly he will be unable to physically attend the Dakar ICANN meeting. On September 23rd Ron underwent serious emergency spinal surgery which has left him unable to travel at that time. He is recovering well. His mind is clear. He will attend and participate in the Dakar meeting remotely, but he deeply regrets his inability to physically attend.
