Application for ccNSO Membership for .pf

Dear fellow councilors, As mentioned in yesterday's conference call, we have received an application for membership of the ccNSO from .pf, the ccTLD of French Polynesia (la Polynésie Française). The application was submitted by Tamatoa Pomare POMMIER of the Agence de Réglementation du Numérique, representing the Gouvernement de la Polynésie Française, the ccTLD's sponsoring organization. See the application attached and IANA's "all clear" below. If you have any objections to .pf's membership, could you please let me know before Saturday 25 February? For this meeting, the ccNSO Council has suggested to discuss following topics (to be confirmed by the GAC Chair): * FoI Working Group Final report on consent; seeking support from the GAC. * FoI Working Group Interim report on Significantly Interested Parties; seeking input from the GAC * Informing GAC on results ccNSO Finance Working Group survey * Progress Study Group country names, including announcement of pilot survey UNESCO. * Improvements of ccNSO: informing GAC on engagement of government related ccTLD managers who are not member of the ccNSO In case you wish to add any topics or questions, please, let me know by Friday, 24 February at the latest! ccTLD Adress Book

Dear Councillors, As mentioned during today's Council call we are trying to find a way to activate the ccTLD Community Wiki Space. One way could be to introduce a ccTLD Address Book - which has been requested by several community members. The point of the address book would be for the ccTLDs to have a non-public location where they can go to find contact information for their peers and make it easier for everyone to exchange information. Before asking the rest of the community I would like to kindly ask all of you who would like to share your contact information on this closed space to send me your details so that I can compile them and put them on the wiki https://community.icann.org/display/ccTLD/ccTLD+Adress+Book. GNSO Liaison Update

Sent on behalf of Han Chuan Lee. === 1. The WHOIS Review Team has came out with a Recommendations report. In that report, questions were raised pertaining to Recommendations 1 and 18 which may concern the ccTLDs. Recommendation 1: ICANN's WHOIS policy is poorly defined and decentralized The ICANN Board should oversee the creation of a single WHOIS policy document, and reference it in subsequent versions of agreements with Contracted Parties. In doing so, ICANN should clearly document the current gTLD WHOIS policy as set out in the gTLD Registry and Registrar contracts and GNSO Consensus Policies and Procedure. Recommendation 18: ICANN Community should task a working group within 6 months of publication to finalize (i) encoding, (ii) modifications to data model, and (iii) internationalized services, to give global access to gather, store and make available internationalized registration data. Such working group should report no later than one year from formation, using existing IDN encoding. The working group should aim for consistency of approach across the gTLD and – on a voluntary basis – the ccTLD space. 2. The GNSO Council had approved the Draft Principles for Cross-Community Working Groups. ICANN staff will be disseminating them to the SO/ACs asking for inputs to the GNSO Council on both the principles themselves and the route forward for community-wide adoption or development of a related set of principles for the operation of Cross-Community Working Groups.
