Endorsement ccNSO candidates for ATRT 2

Dear all, Following the latest call to volunteer in the ATRT 2, 5 candidates expressed an interest to represent the ccNSO on the Review Team: * Demi Getschko (Demi will provide additional information) * Dejan Djukic * Lise Fuhr * Paulos Nyirenda * Hongbin Zhu The details of the candidates (CV, letter, statement of interests) are posted and can be found at: http://www.icann.org/en/about/aoc-review/atrt/2/applications All candidates are associated with a ccTLD. According to the ATRT procedure for appointment, the ccNSO Council is requested to endorse candidate(s) and provide their names by 28 January 2013, end of business day ( see: http://www.icann.org/en/news/announcements/announcement-03dec12-en.htm) In order to meet the deadline it is proposed that all candidates are endorsed as candidates from the ccNSO effective 25 January 2013, noon UTC. If you object or abstain please mail to the Council list. Next steps: Again according to the ATRT 2 appointment procedure, the Review Team will be selected from the pool of volunteers by the chair of ICANN Board and the chair of the GAC, which should be completed by 15 February 2013. Dear all, For scheduling purposes please note that as last year the ccNSO Council is scheduled to have its annual workshop again at the Beijing meeting. The meeting will start at 10 am and run until 13.30 –14.00. Topics are: Report from council capacity study group Review and update of Roles and Responsibilitie Review and update work plan I have included, the new council members, Becky, Luis Diego and Ntagiiye as well, who as always are kindly invited to attend the workshop as well. Internet Governance Forum (IGF) Multi-Stakeholder Advisory Group (MAG)

Dear Councillors, As you will recall, Chris Disspain, the CEO of AUDA and the previous Chair of the ccNSO, has been a member of the IGF MAG since 2006.He has served in a personal capacity, as per the guidelines, representing the ccTLD community and our interests. Just yesterday, a request was received for nominations, copied below for information: On behalf of the United Nations Secretary-General, the Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) requests nominations from all stakeholder groups, according to the established principles and practices of MAG on the rotation and selection of its members. Governments, the private sector, civil society, and technical communities should submit names of candidates from developed and developing countries as well as from economies in transition. Successful nominees will become part of MAG for a period of one year and will contribute to the multi-stakeholder consultation process, bringing the perspectives of their respective groups on Internet governance. Group nominees should be members who have actively participated in IGF meetings and activities in the past. As in previous years, stakeholder groups can resubmit the names of current MAG members for re-election and are expected to publicize the selection and nomination process. Please submit the names of nominees to the IGF Secretariat by 20 January 2013 Given that a) Chris has done a great job and b) the deadline is just 5 days away, I propose that we re-nominate Chris to the MAG for a further term. If any Council member is against this course of action, please could you advise as a matter of urgency. I will also ask the Secretariat to liaise with the IGF Secretariat regarding the timing of nominations on 2014, so that we can build this into our work programme. Extension reply and comment period IANA Functions Comments

Dear all, Following a request of the ccNSO Council, the duration of the comment and reply periods has been extended for: * The reply period for "Consultation on Internet Number Resources Performance Standards" and "Consultation on the IANA Customer Service Complaint Resolution Process" will close on February 28, 2013. * The comment period for "Consultation on IANA Secure Notification Process" has been extended to February 28, 2013 and the reply period will close on March 21, 2013.
