Dear all, The ICANN Board is requesting input and guidance from the ccTLD Community to provide input and guidance that may have to be factored into the implementation of the Recommendations from the Report on User Experience Implications of Active Variant TLDs: http://www.icann.org/en/resources/idn/variant-tlds/active-ux-21mar13-en.pdf In particular, they wish to have input on following issues: a) Which recommendations, if any, are pre-requisites to the delegation of any IDN variant TLDs (i.e., delegation of IDN Variant TLDs should not proceed until these Recommendations are implemented); b) Which recommendations, if any, can be deferred until a later time, and c) Which recommendations, if any, require additional policy work by the ICANN Community and should be referred to the relevant stakeholder group for further Policy work For more information, please see the attached letter to the ccNSO Chair Lesley Cowley. Members Vote IDN ccTLD Policy Development Process

Dear all, The members vote will commence shortly. This is part of the ccNSO Policy Development Process*. According to the rules of the ccNSO Policy Development Process, you will vote on the ccNSO Council Recommendation. This ccNSO Council Recommendation includes all proposals relating to: · The selection criteria, requirements and processes for IDN ccTLD strings, and · The inclusion of IDN ccTLD managers in the ccNSO, and proposed changes to the Article IX of the ICANN Bylaws, which are relevant for all members of the ccNSO. The Council Recommendation is fully documented in the Members Report (http://ccnso.icann.org/workinggroups/idn-ccpdp-members-18apr13-en.pdf <http://ccnso.icann.org/workinggroups/idn-ccpdp-members-18apr13-en.pdf> ). You will receive an electronic ballot, to vote either in favor of, against, or abstain from the Council Recommendation In the first round of voting 50% or more of the membership needs to vote. To date the ccNSO has 136 members, therefore at least 68 members need to vote to carry it through. So please vote! If 67 or less members vote, the votes will not be employed and a second, final round is needed. In order to pass, 66% of all the votes lodged need to be in favor of the Council Recommendation. Finally, in order to assist you, the secretariat has conducted a webinar on the voting. In the webinar an explanation of the voting process and Council Recommendation is provided. Dear Councillors, This Triage Group recommendation on the Request for Input on the Draft Strategic and Operational Plan (see below) may seem a bit superfluous, as the recommendation is to forward it to the SOP WG - which already is busy working on the topic. However, for formal reasons it needed to pass the Triaging group (2 of 3 members agreed with recommendation, no reply from 3rd member) and also needs to gain your approval. Dear Mr. Chehadé and Mr. Crocker, dear Fadi and Steve, In its reaction to the draft Strategic Plan 2013-2016 of November 2012, the Strategic and Operational Planning Working Group of the ccNSO recommended to discontinue the development of the 2013-2016 Strategic Plan and to focus staff and community efforts on the development of the 2014-2018 Strategic Plan in 2013. We also committed to give you a high-level overview and summary of the comments still valid and which the SOP has submitted on ICANNs Strategic Plans since the WG's creation in 2009. With the attached letter, the SOP WG gives a follow-up to that commitment. We hope that our comments can serve as input for you deliberations over the coming days in Amsterdam.
