Dear all, This is to remind you that you are all invited to participate in a ccNSO Newcomer Webinar prior to the Singapore meeting, to be held tomorrow on 27th of January on two occasions: 08:00 UTC and 20:00 UTC. If you wish to participate, just join the session most convenient for your timezone. The webinar is meant to introduce newcomers to the ccNSO and ICANN world, but is open to anyone interested in the function of the ccNSO and its role within ICANN. We will also touch on ccNSO activities at ICANN meetings. Please feel free to forward this information to anyone who might find it useful. You do not need to rsvp, just show up! Draft Statement of Purpose Ad-Hoc group review IDBN FASt Track Process

Dear all, Please find included the draft Statement of Purpose for the ad-hoc group to review the IDN Fast Track Process. The main purpose of this group is to assist ccTLDs with an interest in the IDN ccTLD, and particlur in a review of the Fast Track process in preparing input and feed-back into the review. It is envisioned that his group may submit on its own behalf, however without implying the Council or the ccNSO as whole support the comments, and secondly, assist individual ccTLDs in preparing their comments and input. Proposed prelimenary chair is Giovanni Seppia, however the first task of the group is to nominate a chair, to be confirmed by Council. T^he group is open to all ccTLD with an interest in the topic. Finally it is proposed to close the group at the BA meting in June (the expected date of closure of the review process). Please reply to the list if you have any concerns/ questions regarding the Statement of Purpose by Wednesday 28 January, 17.00 UTC. If no comments, or questions the secretariat will tak ethe next step of setting up a work space etc. In the meantime we will also start alerting the community of this initiative, Kind regards, Bart

IDN TLDs - LGR Procedure Implementation - Guidelines for Designing Script-Specific Label Generation Rules (LGR)

Dear all, ICANN has published a set of documents released for public review, including an introduction to the basic tasks of a Generation Panel. The first Generations Panels that were formed have raised a number of issues that demanded further clarification as well as suggested the need for explanation and amplification of some of the provisions of the Procedure. As such they offer orientation and guidance, rather than detailed and explicit instructions. The output of the work of a Generation Panel is a set of Label Generation Rules for a given script (or multiple LGR in case a panel works on more than one script).
