As no candidate from the non-ccNSO members group of ccTLD managers has volunteered, the ccNSO Council appointed a third person on an interim basis to ensure the voice of the ccTLD community at large is properly represented on the IFRT. This person will step down and be replaced on the IFRT if a candidate from a non-ccNSO ccTLD manager with the required skills and experience as defined in the original call for volunteers steps forward and is appointed by the ccNSO Council. Competition, Consumer Trust, and Consumer Choice Review Team (CCT) Final Report Now Available for Public Comment

Read more: https://www.icann.org/news/announcement-2018-10-10-en Close date: 27 November 2018 Launched under the Affirmation of Commitments (AoC), the CCT Review Team was formed to assess the New gTLD Program in three areas: competition, consumer trust, and consumer choice. The review also assesses the effectiveness of safeguards put in place to mitigate issues arising from the introduction of new gTLDs and the Program's application and evaluation process. The review, now a Specific Review under ICANN Bylaws section 4.6<https://www.icann.org/public-comments/reviews-standards-2017-10-17-en>, examines the degree to which the process of implementing the New gTLD Program was successful in producing desired results and achieving the stated objectives. Initial Report of the New gTLD Auction Proceeds Cross-Community Working Group is out for public comments

Dear all, The Initial Report of the New gTLD Auction Proceeds Cross-Community Working Group is out for public comments. This public comment proceeding seeks to obtain input on the Initial Report of the New generic Top Level Domain (gTLD) Auction Proceeds Cross-Community Working Group (CCWG). The CCWG is tasked with providing guidance on a framework to disburse the funds generated from auctions of last resort in 2012 application round of the new gTLD Program. According to the CCWG's charter, the objective of the group is to develop a proposal(s) for consideration by the chartering organizations: Address Supporting Organization (ASO), the At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC), the Country Code Names Supporting Organization (ccNSO), the Generic Names Supporting Organization (GNSO), the Governmental Advisory Committee (GAC), the Security and Stability Advisory Committee (SSAC), and the Root Server System Advisory Committee (RSSAC). Proposal for Sinhala Script Root Zone Label Generation Rules

Dear all, The Sinhala script community has formed the Sinhala script Generation Panel (GP), which in turn has developed a Proposal for the Sinhala Script Root Zone Label Generation Rules and Supporting Documentation. As per the LGR Procedure, this proposal is being posted for public comment to allow those who have not participated in the Sinhala script GP to make their views known. The Sinhala Script Root Zone Label Generation Rules (LGR) follow the posting of eight related Neo-Brahmi Scripts' LGR proposals, which have been published in three sets. The first set includes Devanagari, Gujarati and Gurmukhi scripts' LGRs, the second set includes Kannada, Telugu, and Oriya scripts' LGRs and the third set includes Malayalam and Tamil scripts' LGRs. Overlapping the comment periods of these LGRs of related scripts, to the extent possible, will allow the community to consider these proposals in the context of each other. Based on the feedback, the Sinhala script GP will finalize the proposal for submission for integration into the Label Generation Rules for the Root Zone (RZ-LGR).
