Dear all, The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (lCANN) is launching the application round for individuals interested in participating in the ICANN63 Public Meeting through the Fellowship Program. The meeting will take place from 20-26 October 2018 in Barcelona, Spain. The deadline to apply is 27 April 2018, 23:59 UTC. Successful candidates will be announced on 27 July 2018 on icann.org. ICANN Fellowship Program The Fellowship Program[icann.org]<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.icann.org_fellowsh…> seeks out individuals who are interested in, or already engaged in, the various aspects of ICANN's work in policy building, the operation of the Domain Name System, and the security and stability of the global Internet. The goal of the program is to create a more diverse and a broader base of knowledgeable constituents who can engage in the ICANN multistakeholder process and become the new voices of experience in their regions and on the global stage. Since its creation in 2007, the Fellowship Program has built a strong group of individuals who are actively participating in ICANN communities and in other Internet governance entities in the Internet ecosystem. Dear All, ICANN’s meetings team will soon start collecting a list of topics to be organised as cross-community sessions for the Policy Forum in Panamá (25th to 28th June 2018). If there is a topic that you would like to see included as cross-community session, kindly send your proposal to joke.braeken(a)icann.org and/or alejandra.reynoso(a)cctld.gt no later than *Monday 9th April, 23:59 UTC*. Proposals for cross-community sessions must include: 1. Title 2. Background/Importance. Must have potential to attract a sizable audience (200+) 3. Session goals and expected outcomes 4. Hyperlinks to any relevant documentation 5. Format of the session 6. Session Leader Please note that having too many sessions sponsored by the ccNSO in one ICANN meeting has proven to be too exhausting and the Meetings Programme WG will review proposals with implementation in mind. The ideal recipient(s) will have served in roles in multiple ICANN working groups or committees and collaborated with more than one Supporting Organization and/or Advisory Committee in a significant capacity. Candidates for the award will demonstrate at least five years of participation in the ICANN Community. Candidates will be evaluated by a panel of community members appointed by the Chairs of each Supporting Organizations and Advisory Committees using a merit-based point system evaluated against three criteria: 1. Demonstrated ability to work across community lines with both familiar and unfamiliar ICANNStakeholders with the aim of consensus building and collaboration that substantiate ICANN's multistakeholder model; 2. Facilitator of dialogue and open discussion in a fair and collegial manner, through the spirit of collaboration as shown through empathy and demonstrating a sincere desire to engage with people from other backgrounds, cultures, and interests; and 3. Demonstrated additional devotional factors exhibited by time spent supporting ICANN's multistakeholder model and its overall effectiveness through volunteer service via working groups or committees. The Council wishes to thank outgoing Vice Chair Demi Getschko for his service and hard work. Comments close on Tuesday, 3 April 2018, 23:59 UTC. A consultation session will be held tomorrow at the ICANN61 ccNSO Members Meeting in San Juan (Tue, 13 March | 13:30-14:30). Current status The Preliminary Issue Report is based on the input collected via a survey that was recently shared with the broader ccTLD community. Based on the input collected via the online survey, the ccNSO Meeting Strategy Review Team makes the following initial recommendations: 1. Organise a ccNSO Members Meeting at every ICANN meeting 2. Ask the meeting programme WG to explore the possibility to organise a 1-day ccNSO Members Meeting during the Policy Forum (i.e. the second ICANN meeting of the year) 3. Keep the ccNSO Members Meeting as a single stream, and do not organise parallel sessions. 4. Invite the meeting programme WG to keep in mind those priorities highlighted via the survey, when putting together the agenda for the ccNSO Members meeting, being: * Developing relations between ccTLDs * Providing updates by and to the ccTLD community In addition to the 4 aforementioned initial recommendations, 1. the ccNSO Meeting Strategy Review Team asks the ccNSO Meeting Programme Working Group to attempt avoiding overlap or duplications with regional organisations' meetings 2.
