FINAL REMINDER. call for volunteers of 6 (six) Councillors: CSC Selection Committee

Dear all, This is a final reminder regarding the call for volunteers for the CSC Selection Committee of 6 (six) Councillors - one from each of the five regions and one NomCom appointed Councillor. So far only 1 councillor stepped forward, from the African region. The role of the CSC Selection Committee: 1) consult with the RySG on the CSC members (as described in the CSC charter) and 2) consult with the GNSO on the full slate (members + liaisons) of the CSC (as described in the Section 17.2 of the Bylaws and the CSC Charter). Note that as agreed on the Council call, the CSC Selection Committee is mandated to discuss the candidates with the RySG and the GNSO - AND - to adopt the full slate on behalf of the ccNSO Council. Should you be interested in joining the CSC Selection Committee, kindly send an email to joke.braeken(a)icann.org<mailto:joke.braeken@icann.org> by the end of Friday, 15 June 2018. Availability Please note that people on the Selection Committee are expected to be available for consultations (including calls) and must be eligible to vote. This means that they will not apply for CSC membership. Background The CSC [icann.org]<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.icann.org_iana-5Fi…> monitors PTI’s performance of the IANA naming function by analyzing performance reports on a monthly basis and publishing its findings. It is authorized to undertake remedial action to address poor performance, and if performance issues are not remedied, the CSC is authorized to escalate the performance issues to the ccNSO and GNSO for consideration. Additionally, the CSC may recommend changes to the naming Service Level Expectations as well as enhancements to the provision of the IANA naming services. In October 2018 the term some of the members and liaisons of the CSC ends. CSC: Call for Nominations (new timeline)

Dear Councillors, Unfortunately, we did not get our act together to send out the call for CSC member nomination at the time originally agreed, i.e. on 29 May. Preparations are still in progress, and I asked the Secretariat to propose a new timeline. The new timeline (see below) needs to be approved again by the Council. *** Timeline *** Call for Nomination: 18 June - 6 July 2018 Selection Process (by the Council, email decision): 9 July 2018 - 13 July 2018 Consultations with RySG: 16 July 2018 - 20 July 2018 (Depends on the progress with other selection committees, initial consultations during ICANN62) Council Decision to select the member (by the Council, email decision): 23 July 2018 - 27 July 2018 Email Decision Approval of the full slate (done by CSC Committee): 10 September 2019 - 14 September 2018 Discussion and Approval of the Selection Report by Council: 20 September 2018 *** On the bright side, if we open the nomination period on 18 June, we will have the opportunity to advertise the position during our face-to-face meeting in Panama. Rejection Action Petition Review Committee is formed! (kind of)

Dear Colleagues, As I already wrote in my email from 7 June (see below), we must appoint Rejection Action Petition Manager, deputy Rejection Action Petition Manager, as well as two other members of the Rejection Action Petition Review Committee. We have two volunteers to these four positions. Again, as I warned, I have no choice but to appoint people. So, here is the composition of the team, which I believe is perfectly suited to deal with any incoming Rejection Action petition: Pablo Rodriguez – Rejection Action Petition Manager; Demi Getschko – deputy Rejection Action Petition Manager; Young-eum Lee – member of the Rejection Action Petition Review Committee; Abibu Ntahigiye – member of the Rejection Action Petition Review Committee. Dear All, This is to inform you that yesterday, on Tuesday, 12 June 2018 (23.59 UTC), the call for nominations for the Special council elections for the European Region was closed. A record of who has nominated and seconded the candidate(s) is available here: https://mm.icann.org/pipermail/ccnso-nominations/ Next steps: Since the nomination period is now closed, the Election Manager asked the nominated candidate to confirm acceptance of the nomination. According to the timeline previously agreed upon by the ccNSO Council, the deadline for the candidate to respond is Wed, 20 June 2018 (23:59 UTC). On 21 June, the Election Manager will communicate whether the candidate accepted the nomination. If the candidate accepts, at the Q&A session - held during the ccNSO Members Meeting at ICANN62 in Panama City - there will be an opportunity for the ccNSO members and broader ccTLD community to interact with the candidate. The session is scheduled for Tuesday, 26 June 2018 (13:30-14:00) and will be chaired by Debbie Monahan (.nz). REMINDER - Call for nominations: Special ccNSO Council Elections | European region

Dear all, This is a reminder to the ccNSO Members from the European region: the ccNSO has recently opened a call for nominations, which closes Tuesday, 12 June 2018 (23.59 UTC). Further instructions can be found below. Nigel Roberts has indicated he will step down from the ccNSO Council after the ccNSO Council meeting in Panama City (ICANN62). In accordance with section 10.4(g) of the ICANN Bylaws, the ccNSO members in the European Region will need to select a candidate for the remainder of Nigel’s term (until March 2020). The person selected for the special council election will take the seat on the Council immediately after the selection. Individuals are selected in their personal capacity and serve the ccTLD community. Councillors do not represent the views and interests of their employers. Candidates need to be neither resident in the region nor a citizen of a country within the region in which they stand for election. How to nominate and second a candidate Timeline START nominations/secondments: Tuesday, 22 May 2018 (00.01 UTC) END nominations/secondments: Tuesday, 12 June 2018 (23.59 UTC) Who can nominate/second? According to section 10.4 (h) of the ICANN Bylaws, each ccNSO member from ICANN’s European region may nominate a person to serve on the ccNSO Council for the European region. The nominated person must need to be seconded by another ccNSO member from the European region. Candidates do not need to reside or be a citizen of a country in the region for which they stand. ccNSO members may self-nominate themselves but are not allowed to second their nomination. Self-nominations must be seconded by two ccNSO members from the region. Accepting nominations After closure of the nomination period, the Election Manager will ask the candidates that are nominated to accept their nomination. Self-nominations are understood to have accepted their nomination. The Election Manager will provide a list with the name(s) of the candidate(s) who have accepted their nomination.
