Background: The results of the most recent public consultation, and work that has progressed with dependencies to enhancing the effectiveness of the MSM (such as the ATRT3 report and work on prioritization and budgeting). * The topic chosen by the ccNSO: Changes necessary to sustain ICANN’s model. Background: Considering that travel restrictions may last for several years, what would need to change in the board, the staff and the various SOs and ACs? Even when international travel becomes possible again, should one or more of the ICANN meetings remain virtual to i) reduce carbon emissions and ii) improve accessibility and participation as time/ expense to travel to a physical meeting? DRAFT PTI and IANA FY22 Operating Plan and Budgets

Hello everyone, Focusing on ICANN's commitment to the multistakeholder model, the ICANN organization seeks Public Comment on the operating plan and budgets for delivering the IANA functions. This is comprised of two components: * the Draft FY22 Public Technical Identifiers (PTI) Operating Plan and Budget * the Draft FY22 IANA Operating Plan and Budget. The PTI Operating Plan and Budget outlines the activities to deliver the core IANA functions and associated operational activities to enhance systems and processes. The IANA Operating Plan and Budget is comprised of these PTI activities, plus additional programs and costs associated with overseeing and delivering the IANA functions performed by ICANN in its role as the IANA Functions Operator that are not borne directly by PTI. ICANN seeks structured feedback on the plans described in these documents to inform these Operating Plans and Budgets being presented to ICANN and PTI Boards. Hello Stephen, Thanks for the questions. The ccNSO Guidelines Review Committee has been preparing guidelines pertaining to Empowered Community Mechanisms in Annex D of the ICANN Bylaws. Currently the committee is working on a ccNSO Guideline regarding a recall of the ICANN Board, or the NomCom appointed Councillors. The timelines foreseen in Annex D cause concerns regarding how to match the deadlines with the internal rules of the ccNSO and the role of the ccNSO membership and Council respectively. The ccNSO Council understood that other SO/ACS are struggling with those timelines as well, and would like to consult with the GNSO Council, in a preliminary manner. Some time ago James (Gannon?) also suggested to Katrina the need to work together on possible bylaws changes. The meeting at ICANN69 could be a start for that conversation. Best regards. Tue, 13 October 2020 ccNSO Members meeting: ccNSO Governance | 10:00-11:30 UTC The session will be an interactive one, with an introduction by Katrina Sataki followed by a discussion with the ccNSO membership, moderated by Chris Disspain. The goal of this session is to consult the ccNSO membership regarding some topics that have a direct impact on the governance structure of the ccNSO, specifically on the expected interaction and roles and responsibilities of the Council and ccNSO membership. The topics to be addressed include the 2004 internal Rules of the ccNSO, and the decision making in the context of the ccNSO as Decisional Participant. The results of the session will provide the basis for further work on the aforementioned topics by the ccNSO Council and the ccNSO Guidelines Review Committee (GRC). This is an important effort to make sure that the ccNSO Council, ccNSO members, and rules are properly aligned in accordance with our wishes. Communities may choose to appoint program alumni and are encouraged to appoint active community members who have an interest in mentoring students. There are three slots available for mentors, and five slots for selection committee members. Each SO/AC is asked to nominate candidates for both positions. Individual self-nominations will not be considered. Interested community groups should select their respective NextGen@ICANN volunteers by Thursday, 15 October 2020 and notify Deborah Escalera at nextgen(a)icann.org. For ICANN69, the campaign is called #ICANNintermission. This time, we are asking members of the ICANN community, ICANN Board, and ICANN org to send us photos of what they like to do between sessions (yoga, going for a run, playing with their pets, playing soccer with their kids, etc.). We need a few photos to get the campaign started! Photos need to be in landscape mode, (see example above) preferably with the subject in the center to crop the image. The chairs will then coordinate and consolidate their respective group’s feedback. The Board will also host a session at ICANN69 to continue the conversation with the community about our meeting strategy. The survey will serve as a guidepost for those discussions.
