[PROPOSAL] for our next council call on 18 November 12:00 UTC

Dear All I hope you had the best ICANN72 experience possible :) A lot of work and effort were invested in the preparation and execution of the ICANN72 sessions which naturally left us all with the need to rest from ICANN related matters and recharge. Therefore, next week the ccNSO will keep its activities at a minimum and resume normal speed on Monday 8 November. Our next call is scheduled for Thursday 18 November at 12:00 UTC. In just 3 weeks. Considering two effective weeks of work before our call, my proposal is to change the format of our session from a formal council meeting to a council workshop, to discuss the following topics: 1. Next steps on the role of the ccNSO & DNS Abuse. 1. Attached is the presentation shown yesterday at our council call, with more details on the statements polled. 2. Keep in mind that we need volunteers for the drafting of the proposed plan of action to be presented to the ccTLD community for consultation. 3. So far there is Nick and myself. A couple more councillors would be appreciated. 4. Please use the mailing list to volunteer. 2. Next steps on Hybrid Meetings. 1. Ongoing elections for the position of ccNSO council member for the Asia-Pacific region

Dear Councilors, I have contacted you regarding the elections for the position of ccNSO council member for the Asia-Pacific region. Voting was supposed to start on Wednesday, 10 November (00:01 UTC), but due to a delay in the sending of the ballots, voting started a few hours later, approximately around 6 UTC on Wednesday, 10 November 2021. Sincere apologies for the delay with the ballots, due to a mistake from my end. Apologies have also been sent to both candidates. To compensate for the delayed start time, the deadline to vote will be Thursday, 25 November (23:59 UTC), instead of Wednesday, 24 November (23:59 UTC). Voting results will become public on Friday, 26 November 2021 (latest by 23:59 UTC). In case there is a need for a second voting round, or in case there is a tied vote, the timeline has been adjusted as follows: Start run-off elections, if any: Monday, 29 November 2021 (00:01 UTC), with ballots being sent on Friday, 26 November. Dear ccNSO members from the Asia-Pacific region, This is to inform you about the elections for the position of ccNSO council member for the Asia-Pacific region. Voting in the first round has now started and closes on Thursday, 25 November 2021 (23:59 UTC). The deadline to vote has been extended with 24 hours, compared to the timeline<https://community.icann.org/download/attachments/138970351/Item%209%20-%20t…> previously approved by the ccNSO Council, since ballots were sent out with a delay. Apologies for the inconvenience. In accordance with the applicable rules, two (2) candidates from the Asia-Pacific region were nominated, seconded and have accepted their nomination. Consequently, an election will be held among the ccNSO members of the Asia-Pacific Region. Only ccNSO members from a Geographic Region are allowed to vote for candidates to the ccNSO Council from that Geographic Region. They interacted with the ccNSO members and broader ccTLD community at a Q&A session, held during the ccNSO Members Meeting at ICANN71. Election opening and closing Voting in the first election round started on Wednesday, 10 November 2021 (am UTC) and closes on Thursday, 25 November 2021 (23:59 UTC). Election procedure The vote will be by confidential email. Voting ballots have been sent by tally(a)icann.org<mailto:tally@icann.org> to the e-mail address of the primary contact of each ccNSO Member from the Asia-Pacific region, as listed in the ccNSO Members database. If you are unable to locate the ballot, consider checking your spam folder. Contact Joke Braeken (joke.braeken(a)icann.org<mailto:joke.braeken@icann.org>) if you have questions or concerns regarding the e-mail address of the primary contact for your ccTLD Since the election is for one seat, each ccNSO member will be entitled to vote for up to one candidate. For each ballot, a maximum of 1 candidate can be selected. There is a possibility to submit your ballot without selecting any of the candidates. Each primary contact will receive 1 ballot only. You can vote an unlimited number of times, but only the last vote submitted will be counted. As per the relevant guideline, a majority of all ccNSO members in the Geographic Region entitled to vote shall constitute a quorum, and the selected candidate must receive the votes of a majority of those cast by ccNSO members within the Geographic Region. Next Steps The election closes on Thursday, 25 November 2021 (23:59 UTC). The Election Manager will announce the voting results on Friday, 26 November 2021 (latest by 23:59 UTC).
