This webinar will be recorded. Follow along in the final draft document: https://community.icann.org/x/ionOCg Rules were adopted in 2004. We had governance sessions starting at ICANN69, and subsequent meetings. Today’s session is not a formal vote. Note that the formal process will be followed, polling used today is just a “temperature of the room”. Non ccNSO members are asked not to participate in the polling. One response per ccNSO member please. The roadmap We are now at a near-final draft of the new rules. The GRC will revise the input and submit its proposal to Council, post 23 December. Council will initiate a vote, potentially followed by an additional community webinar, and a members vote. 1. Message by David McAuley (Chair), Chair of the drafting team David: “While this webinar will largely be informational, it will afford a final opportunity to offer suggestions/tweaks as we prepare the draft for submission to Council early in the new year prior to a membership vote. We don’t plan on extensive polling, but we will poll on one topic: the options relating to the consequences where the proposed 33% quorum for e-votes by membership is not met. As a result of polling in the most recent webinar, we have reduced the consequential options from three to two (which we still describe as options 1 and 3 – option 2 has been removed). In addition, we may highlight certain areas of particular interest for further feedback. The webinar will be recorded, and we will watch the list for additional feedback in December so that all members will have a chance to weigh in, including those who cannot attend the webinar as it takes place.“ About this webinar The ccNSO Guidelines Review Committee subgroup on Rules invites the ccTLD Community to join a public webinar on Thursday, 9 December 2021 at 13:00 UTC, to present their final draft of the updated ccNSO Rules. Read the announcement here: https://www.icann.org/en/announcements/details/nomination-period-opens-for-… Launched in 2014, the ICANN Community Excellence Award recognizes the ICANN community members who have deeply invested in consensus-based solutions and contributed substantively to the ICANN multistakeholder model. The ideal recipient(s) will have: * Participated in the ICANN community for at least five years * Served in multiple ICANN working groups or committees * Collaborated with more than one Supporting Organization (SO) or Advisory Committee (AC) in a significant capacity Candidates will be evaluated by a panel of ICANN community members appointed by the SO/AC chairs. Conclusion nominations : Special ccNSO Council Elections – European region

Dear ccNSO members, This is to inform you that - in accordance with the approved timeline - the nomination period for the Special ccNSO Council Elections – European region closed on Thursday, 2 December 2021 (23:59 UTC). One candidate was nominated, seconded, and has accepted his nomination for the ccNSO council election, as per the applicable rules. The candidate is Chris Disspain. The nomination archives can be found here<https://mm.icann.org/pipermail/ccnso-nominations/>. Next steps A Councillor can be any individual nominated, seconded and elected as described in the ccNSO Council Election Guideline<https://ccnso.icann.org/sites/default/files/field-attached/guideline-ccnso-…>. As only one candidate was nominated and seconded within the nomination period, no elections need to be held in the European region. Since at the close of nominations there are no more valid candidates in the aforementioned geographic region than there are seats on the ccNSO Council available for this region, the nominated candidate shall be selected to serve on the ccNSO Council. The Election Manager will prepare the Election Report for the Special ccNSO Council Elections – European region for consideration by the ccNSO Council. The process will formally close 7 days after adoption and publication of the Election Report. Background Giovanni Seppia has indicated he will step down from the ccNSO Council on 31 December 2021. In accordance with section 10.4(g) of the ICANN Bylaws, the ccNSO members in the European Region will need to select a candidate for the remainder of Giovanni's term (until March 2023). The person selected for the special Council election will take the seat on the Council on 1 January 2022, latest after formal completion of the selection process. The ccNSO opened a call for nominations to fill the seat: the nomination and secondment procedure started Thursday, 18 November 2021 (00:01 UTC) and closed Thursday, 2 December 2021 (23:59 UTC). The ccNSO Council<https://ccnso.icann.org/about/council.htm> consists of 18 Councillors: 15 Councilors are elected by the ccNSO members within that ICANN Geographic Region. Individuals are elected in their personal capacity and serve the ccTLD community. There are 5 geographic regions, and 3 Councilors per region.
