FW: Getting Around in The Hague

Dear all, For those traveling to The Hague, just wanted to forward some helpful tips that was shared by a Policy colleague: …travelling to The Hague and landing at Schiphol I recommend you take the train to The Hague and then a taxi from the central station. Maybe not if you’re arriving at a really odd hour. The site 9292.nl<http://9292.nl> can be used to plan any public transit travel in The Netherlands(trains/trams/buses/etc). They have an app and you can use that to buy digital train tickets on your phone. You don’t need a ticket for a specific train and seat, just make sure you get it for the right day and either rush hour or outside of rush hour. You’re going to Den Haag Centraal, not one of the smaller stations. Taxis stands are at all major train stations. Look for the taxi icon when you get off the train. I’ve had mostly bad experiences with ride sharing apps like Uber or Lyft here, so I recommend not bothering with them. Ask before getting into the taxi if they accept credit cards. 10 years ago it was rare that they accepted CCs, I think now they all do, but it’s good to ask. Legitimate taxis have blue license plates and Uber/Lyft drivers are also required to have blue plates. Don’t get into a taxi that does not have blue plates. Getting a taxi from The Hague to Schiphol is not a bad idea. Book ahead on a site like https://taxihaag.nl/den-haag-taxi/ (An example, not an endorsement). If you just hop in a taxi to go to Schiphol without a reservation expect to pay double. If you want food but don’t want to get covid from sitting in a restaurant thuisbezorgd.nl<http://thuisbezorgd.nl> is a good place to order food to your hotel.

Rejection Action Period ICANN's FY23 Operating Plan and Budget

I am writing you one behalf of Nick Wenban-Smith, the ccNSO Rejection Action Process Manager, to inform you that on 26 May 2022 the ICANN Board of Directors approved the FY23 Operating Plan and Budget (see: https://www.icann.org/resources/board-material/resolutions-2022-05-26-en) The FY23 Operating Plan is available at https://www.icann.org/en/system/files/files/op-financialplan-fy23-27-opplan… beginning on page 135, and the FY23 Budget is available at https://www.icann.org/en/system/files/files/budget-fy23-2022-en.pdf. On 28 May 2022, the ccNSO as a Decisional Participant received a notice from the ICANN Secretary pursuant to Section 22.5(a)(v) of the ICANN Bylaws, which initiated the 21 days Rejection Action Petition Period for the community. The deadline for submission of a Rejection Action Petition(s) to the ccNSO role account (ccnso-petions(a)icann.org<mailto:ccnso-petions@icann.org>) is 10 June 2022 at 23:59 UTC. If you are interested in submitting a Rejection Action Petition with respect to the adopted FY24 Operating Plan and Budget, please consult Section 2 of Annex D for the requirements, which must be met (https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/governance/bylaws-en/#annexD ). This implies that my successor on RZERC will also be seated on the RT, later this year. The RT still has to set its own procedures and has used the RZERC operational procedures as a starting point. Currently, the main question is the form of consensus that the RT should use for the review and the final report. The two options on the table are "full consensus" and "rough consensus". RSSAC has already signalled they prefer "full consensus". My preliminary recommendation would be to aim for "rough consensus" with the option of statement of dissent. Obviously the question of how to arrive at the decision for the desired consensus model is 'recursive', but given its very nature, a full consensus will be necessary from my perspective. On a slightly related note, this might have to be seen in light of RSSAC's recent move w.r.t. the RSS GWG. Any difficulties for the RSSAC to become part of a full consensus could stall the whole process. The ccNSO council's advice would be appreciated.
