Information Sharing NEW: The Lifecycle of Reviews Project: Evolving the Specific Reviews Process In September of 2022, the ICANN organization (org) launched the Lifecycle of Reviews Project to investigate the operational challenges currently faced by Specific Reviews and identify procedural improvements to the process. This project will not look at the substance of reviews or their cadence. Read more. NEW: ICANN Publishes FY23 Annual Report and Audited Financial Statements ICANN has published its Annual Report for Fiscal Year 2023 (FY23), which ended 30 June 2023, and its audited consolidated financial statements. ICANN also published the FY23 audited financial statements for its Public Technical Identifiers (PTI) affiliate. Read more. NEW: ICANN Reviews Program Update and Interim President and CEO Goal 11 The ICANN Reviews Program encompasses the management of Specific Reviews and Organizational Reviews, including the implementation of the recommendations they generate and the ongoing work to improve the reviews process. Specific and Organizational Reviews are required by the ICANN Bylaws. They are critical to maintaining a healthy ICANN multistakeholder model. Read more. NEW: ICANN Joins Canadian Community in Discussions About the Future Internet ICANN is participating in a week of Internet governance-related engagements in Montréal, Canada, from 3 to 5 October 2023. On 4 October, ICANN Board Chair Tripti Sinha will deliver the morning keynote address at the Canadian Internet Governance Forum (CIGF) 2023: The Future We Want. The CIGF is a leading forum for Internet governance discussions, offering the opportunity for Canadians from diverse backgrounds and sectors to discuss digital and Internet policy issues. This is the first time an ICANN Board Chair will address the CIGF. Read more. Join Us in Shaping ICANN's FY26-30 Strategic Plan During this session, ICANN will conduct an environmental scan and identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats that will inform its strategic planning efforts. This appointment will serve for the ICANN79, ICANN80, and ICANN81 meetings. Nominations must be submitted no later than Friday, 1 November 2023. The community-nominated mentor will be responsible for overseeing the mentor process. Communities may choose to appoint program alumni and are encouraged to appoint active community members who have an interest in mentoring students. Guidelines for the program can be found here. Dear Councillors Last Friday was the Virtual SO/AC Chairs Roundtable and two ICANN groups are requesting our feedback regarding the following topics: 1. Implementing ATRT3 Recommendation 3.6: How to Evolve Organizational Reviews into a Continuous Improvement Program (ICANN org’s Reviews Support & Accountability team) - CIP-CCG - SOAC Roundtable - 29Sep2023.docx 2. Implementing ATRT3 Recommendation 5: A Proposed Process for Retiring Community-Developed, Board-Adopted Non-Policy Recommendations (ICANN org’s Implementation Operations team) - IO intro - SOAC Roundtable - 29Sep2023.docx - Draft Process to Retire non-Policy Recommendations - Sept 2023.pdf Ideally they would like our views by the end of the month, but considering that we have the ICANN meeting at our doorstep, that might be too difficult to achieve. Apply Now for ccNSO Travel Funding for ICANN79

Dear All, ccNSO travel support is available for a limited set of travelers for ICANN79, held 2-7 March 2024 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The ccNSO accepts applications for ccNSO travel support as of Tuesday, 3 October 2023 (noon UTC), until Tuesday, 17 October 2023 (noon UTC). Early or late submissions will not be evaluated. This announcement will also be published on the ccNSO website. What are the requirements for ccNSO applicants? The applicant actively participates in the work of the ccNSO and contributes to its projects and meetings. Examples of contributions to the work of the ccNSO: an active engagement in a ccNSO working group, a role as presenter/session chair/moderator during ccNSO sessions at the public meeting, or other engagements that strengthen the activities of the ccNSO. Important: Applications which do not clearly state an active contribution, are not eligible and will not be taken into consideration. What is included? The ccNSO travel funding covers an economy class ticket to the travel destination, the hotel costs for the time of the meeting and a per diem (either full funding, or partial funding).
