ICANN Publishes 2022 IDN Annual Report

Dear All, ICANN published the 2022 Internationalized Domain Name (IDN) Annual Report. The report provides an overview of the status of IDNs at the top and second levels of the Domain Name System (DNS), as well as the IDN-related work being done by the ICANN organization (ICANN org) and community. Related, the ccNSO will hold a Universal Acceptance Roadmap session at ICANN76, on Wednesday, 15 March 2023 | 14:00-15:00 UTC (09:00-10:00 local) Universal Acceptance is cornerstone to a digitally inclusive and multilingual Internet, ensuring all domain names and email addresses – in any language, script, or using any new or long TLD – are accepted equally by all Internet-enabled applications, devices, and systems. The ccNSO previously explored its potential role in Universal Acceptance. To that end, it organized a session during ICANN75 where both ccTLDs and other stakeholders suggested activities the ccNSO could undertake to complement existing work by the Internet community. In December 2022 and January 2023, ccTLD representatives participated in two workshops to further explore their expectations regarding potential ccNSO action and how to organize next efforts. After the conclusion of the workshops, the ccNSO Council developed a plan which will be presented during ICANN76. Prior to the session, the ccNSO secretariat will share details about the ccNSO & UA Roadmap. Dear ccNSO members, council members, ccTLD representatives, Twenty years ago, the country code Name Supporting Organisation was created. Happy anniversary to the ccNSO and well done for making it through two decades! It is no small accomplishment, and deserves recognition with our members, the broader ccTLD community and related stakeholders. 2023 marks a year of celebrations for the ccNSO, starting in March at ICANN76 in Cancun (MX), continuing through June at ICANN77 in Washington DC (US), until October at ICANN78 in Hamburg (DE). To kick off the festivities, we warmly invite you to our ccNSO Anniversary Session at ICANN76 <https://community.icann.org/x/kYYFDQ>, held on Tuesday, 14 March 2023 | 21:30-22:30 UTC (16:30-17:30 local). During this session, previous ccNSO leaders will reflect on the evolution and major milestones in the history of the ccNSO. Changes to ICANN Org’s Meetings Scheduling Platform

https://www.icann.org/en/blogs/details/changes-to-icann-orgs-meetings-sched… As the ICANN76 Community Forum approaches, I wanted to share an update with you about the ICANN organization's (org) online scheduling tool. Because the vendor is discontinuing support for Pathable, we will no longer be using this tool. Instead, we will be using Sched. ICANN org used Sched previously, before switching to Pathable. Once the ICANN76 schedule is available on the meeting website<https://76.schedule.icann.org/>, participants will be able to create personalized schedules using Sched. Because Sched is not integrated into the ICANN Account single sign-on, users will need to create a new account and agree to the terms and conditions. As part of the transition from Pathable, ICANN org will be archiving previous meeting websites and content so that meeting recordings and transcripts will continue to be available to the public. Most hyperlinks for these past meeting materials will continue to work, but some will have new URLs. For now, we are considering Sched to be an interim solution for ICANN76. We are reviewing platform requirements for a long-term scheduling solution, which will be integrated with the ICANN Account for single sign-on. Keep an eye out for the ICANN76 Prep Week schedule, which will be published next week on the meeting site.
