Dear Councillors, As mentioned yesterday during the Special ccNSO Council meeting, the Board Seat 12 Nomination Process kicks off soon. Once the revised Board Nomination Guideline has been adopted, Council will be invited to approve the nomination process timeline, and appoint a process manager. Please find the proposed timeline enclosed. A heads up to the community will go out later this week as well. Dear Jonathan Today the ccNSO Council had a special meeting to discuss ALAC's Rejection Action Petition. After considering the comments received from the ccTLD community, and the discussion, the ccNSO Council decided NOT to support the Rejection Action Petition. Just as a heads up, we will follow up with a letter confirming this decision in the near future. Dear all, In preparation of tomorrow’s call, please find included the comments received to date: 1. From the Council list dated 2 June (Jordan Carter): I don’t think anything has changed about this situation since we last looked at it. Given we instigated this deferral and review process, I hope we don’t support this petition. And I say that as someone who is, in principle, sympathetic to ALAC’s argument. Our focus should be on making sure that the Review of Reviews completes quickly and effectively, in my view. 1. Jordan’s statement supported by Charles Noir and Chris Disspain (Council list 2 June) 1. Email to ccNSO petitions address dated 5 June 2026 from Roelof Meijer, SIDN: nl/SIDN’s view is that the ccNSO should NOT support the ALAC Petition. ICANNorg and the community agreed to postpone reviews to reduce the high workload of these on both community volunteers and org employees while simultaneously executing a review of reviews with the ultimate goal of implementing a more efficient and effective review policy. The postponement of reviews renders ICANN noncompliant with its bylaws, which potentially introduces a legal vulnerability. I understand this fix. Should the bylaw amendment ever be misused in the future, as ALAC fears, the empowered community has ample measures to rectify that

This draft is the result of active engagement with both members and observers who have participated in the discussions. Their contributions have been instrumental in shaping the current document. This report highlights some areas where additional details will continue to be worked out in the Cross-Community Group’s continued deliberations, and also includes linked references to recent comments pointing to some areas in which the Reviews CCG is actively engaged and which are particularly relevant for discussion at ICANN86.
