To facilitate participation during the remote Public Meeting, the pilot program offers community members who have limited Internet capacity financial assistance to increase their Internet bandwidth during ICANN69. Reimbursement amounts of up to USD 60 will be provided to eligible applicants who purchase additional Internet bandwidth (capacity or data limits) for the duration of the month or billing cycle for October 2020. The services must be rendered by a business entity or Internet service provider, specifically for Internet or cellular data service. The provider must also provide digital or paper documentation of the upgrade costs. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS To qualify for Internet service reimbursement: Applicants must be active members of an ICANN community Supporting Organization or Advisory Committee and have been an ICANN funded traveler within 18 months prior to ICANN69 or must be selected to participate in the current ICANN69 Fellowship or the NextGen programs. Applicants must be registered to attend, and participate in ICANN69. Participation will be validated by the support staff of the primary membership group of applicants. Applicants must require additional bandwidth at home to facilitate their active participation in ICANN69. Applicants must have a valid personal bank account for ICANN org to wire the reimbursement funds. Applicants must apply for this program in advance of the meeting. The deadline to apply is Friday, 2 October 2020. While 2020 has proven challenging and likely very different from what we were all expecting when we last saw each other almost a year ago in Montréal, the Board and I keep being impressed and grateful for your continued dedication to ICANN’s mission. The Board still values its dialogue with your groups and is very much looking forward to engaging with you during our 22nd and first ever virtual Annual General Meeting that will take place between 13-22 October 2020. As you keep working on the format for ICANN69, we would like to start preparing for community dialogue with the Board. As per what we did in Montréal and virtually for ICANN67, instead of sending up to three questions to the Board, we would like to offer you the alternative option of choosing a single topic and having an open discussion with the Board on that topic. We will also publish the list of questions or topics received using this digest as a successful tool for improving transparency and allowing other groups to deepen their own understanding of their peers’ point of view on different issues. As for time allocation, per what we did previously, we propose to allocate half of our time together to answer your questions or discuss your single topic and the other half to address the Board’s topic. In preparation for our meetings, the Board has chosen the following topic to have an open discussion with you: Enhancing the effectiveness of the multistakeholder model - key issues and opportunities for acceleration. In your preparation, you may want to consider the results of the most recent public consultation and the work that has progressed with dependencies to enhancing the effectiveness of the multistakeholder model, such as the Accountability and Transparency Review Team (ATRT3) Final Report and work on prioritization and budgeting). Twelve webinars will be offered from 5-8 October 2020. To access the Prep Week schedule, please register for ICANN69. REMINDER: Nominations for NextGen Selection Committee and Mentor Positions Now Open From: Sally Costerton, Senior Advisor to the President and Senior Vice President, Global Stakeholder Engagement The ICANN org NextGen Program announced that it is seeking nominations for mentors and for the NextGen selection committee. Communities may choose to appoint program alumni and are encouraged to appoint active community members who have an interest in mentoring students. There are three slots available for mentors, and five slots for selection committee members. Each SO/AC is asked to nominate candidates for both positions. Individual self-nominations will not be considered. Interested community groups should select their respective NextGen@ICANN volunteers by 15 October and notify Deborah Escalera at nextgen(a)icann.org. ICANN Reserve Fund update replenishment

Dear All, Please see a news item below on the ICANN Reserve Fund. A New Milestone for ICANN's Reserve Fund by Xavier Calvez, SVP, Planning & Chief Financial Officer Two years ago during ICANN63, the ICANN Board approved an eight-year plan to replenish the ICANN Reserve Fund to an amount equal to one year of operating expenses as the minimum target level of the Reserve Fund. Last month, for the first time in ICANN's history, the Reserve Fund reached the funds required for 12 months of operating expenses. <https://www.icann.org/news/blog/a-new-milestone-for-icann-s-reserve-fund> On numerous occasions the SOPC urged ICANN to replenish the Fund as soon as possible. Call for nominations to the ccNSO Council closed

Dear All, On Wednesday, 30 September 2020 (23:59 UTC), the call for nominations to fill 5 seats in the ccNSO Council was closed. For each of the 5 geographic regions, at least 1 candidate has been nominated and seconded. Next steps * Acceptance nominations After closure of the nomination period, the Election Manager will ask the candidates that are nominated and seconded in accordance with the applicable rules, whether they accept their nomination. The deadline for acceptance of the nominations is Wednesday, 7 October 2020 (23:59 UTC). Following this deadline, the list of candidates will be published on the ccNSO website. * Question and answers session at ICANN69 A question and answer session will be held at the upcoming ccNSO Members Meeting at ICANN69, scheduled for Tuesday, 13 October 2020 (12:00-13:30 UTC). Session chair is Biyi Oladipo (.ng). All candidates that accepted their nominations are kindly invited to participate in the Q&A session, which will provide the ccNSO members and broader ccTLD community an opportunity to interact with the Council candidates. Otherwise, an election shall be held for that geographic region, to select the ccNSO Councillors from among the valid candidates. In such an election, a majority of all ccNSO members in the Geographic Region entitled to vote shall constitute a quorum, and the selected candidate must receive the votes of a majority of those cast by ccNSO members within the Geographic Region. Subsequent procedures and Geo names

Hi All Nice to see you all this evening on the workshop 😊 I was reminded that I’d promised to circulate a draft comment on the new gTLDs final report, especially to support the geo names recommendations (in essence to preserve 2 letter for ccTLDs and to ensure that the 3166 alpha 3 codes can’t become gTLDs) So to update you all, there isn’t really a comment as such, you just have to submit a google doc to confirm you agree. I’ve done that in draft to confirm that the ccNSO council agrees with the geo names and some of the other details which are essentially no change, but expressed no opinion on the more controversial areas (such as closed generics). Hope that is all ok. The deadline is cob tomorrow so just shout any issues as per our last call otherwise I will submit our support.
