Thank you and kind regards, Bart Resolution Background: At its meeting in Mexico city on 4 March 2009, the ccNSO Council resolved to close the IANA working group. At the same meeting the Council resolved to review the scope of the Technical Working Group to ensure that it is mandated and capable of undertaking continuing work with IANA on outstanding issues. At the Seoul meeting the chair of the Technical working group proposed a charter to accommodate the Council's resolution. During its meeting in Seoul the Council discussed the proposed charter. Two issues needed to be addressed: Language in the charter relating to observers - Change from 'lurkers" to "observers" - and, seeking new members. During the Seoul meeting the Tech WG members reached out for new members, who were added. The WG in particular looked for people with firm technical and/or operational knowledge and experience. Proposed decision: the ccNSO Council adopts the charter of the Tech working group, as proposed by the chair of the Tech Working Group.

Thank you and kind regards, Bart Resolution Background: During the Seoul meeting the delegation, re-delegation and retirement working group discussed extensively its working plan and the associated schedule. As a result the chair of the Working Group, Keith Davidson, requests the ccNSO Council to adjust the charter of the Working Group to reflect the work plan. Proposed decision: the ccNSO Council adopts the proposed charter, as proposed by the chair of the Delegation and Re-delegation Working Group.

Vote on statement of purpose ad-hoc study group on "wildcarding"

Dear all, You are kindly requested to vote on the included resolution on the statement of purpose and scope of activities of the "wildcarding" study group. The statement has been updated and now includes a section on background as suggested by Patricio. Please send a vote in favour, abstain or against the resolution by Thursday 3 December 2010. At the its meeting in Seoul the ccNSO Council appointed Young Eum Lee and Ondrej Filip as co-chairs of a "wildcard" study group. The first task was to propose a statement purpose and statement of activities to be adopted by the Council. After adoption of that statement the co-chairs would seek members from the community and set up a liaison with SSAC. Proposed decision: Adopt proposed statement on purpose and scope of activities for "redirection or wildcard" study group, and request the co-chairs to send out a call for volunteers.

All, My draft is attached. You will note that it is much shorter and concentrates solely on providing the highlights. My reasoning is that we want the Board to see the survey and simply providing highlights is the best way to achieve that. All of the other information is not particularly relevant to the results of the survey and will in my view serve only to discourage a full reading of the letter and a trip to the survey page to view the survey itself. Review and improvement of the ccNSO website

Dear all, One of the topics we as staff wanted to inform on you under AOB at the Council was improvements to the ccNSO website. Over the last month, after the Seoul meeting, we as ccNSO staff with the help of other ICANN staff, have identified the following issues regarding the ccNSO website: * With increase of activity of the ccNSO and ccTLD community, the use of the ccNSO website as mechanism to share information and inform community will increase. * Updating and maintenance of the ccNSO website is almost increasing exponentially with increased postings on the website. This is due to increased complexity (new activities) and current static nature of the website. * Decreasing overview of content due to increase complexity and volume of content. Due to increased complexity, the value of the current navigation mechanism and heuristics to retrieve information is decreasing rapidly, i.e. It becomes more difficult for users to retrieve information. * The design of the current website was based and followed the design of the ICANN home page as it was two and half years ago. * The aesthetics are not inviting. Navigation is not self-explanatory anymore due to increased complexity and categories of information To address (some) of the issues identified, we are starting a process to improve the web-sti. The goal is to: 1. To create a website that is most helpful to users with a strong interest in the ccNSO; 2. Improve navigation, maintainability and sustainability of the website to cope with the increasing complexity and volume of content. The start of the process will be to review the usability and navigation of the current web-site with the user community and identify the changes the user community wants, if any. As user community we have identified the following groups: CcNSO Councillors: CcNSO Active members: Working Group members: CcNSO "Quiet" members: CcTLD Non-members: Regional Organisations: Members of the ICANN staff. In the next week two or three individuals from each of these groups will be approached for interviews ( taking approximately 30 minutes). The interviews are intended to take place some time in December, early January, depending on availability. The consolidated results will be presented to the group, and based on the validated consolidated input, we will start the process of re-designing, if needed. Background: At its meeting in Seoul, the ccNSO Council agreed to inform the ICANN Board of directors on the results of the survey conducted by the SOP WG. Included is draft letter. The letter to the Board includes the request to publish a clear timeline for community input in future; a brief overview of SOP WG and background of the survey and the highlights of the survey. Proposed decision: adopt the letter and request chair of the ccNSO to send the letter to the chair of the ICANN Board. 3) ccNSO Council Workshop Nairobi 4) Working Group Update 4.1 Wildcard Study Group - Approval of Statement of Activies and Purpose See attachment 3.
