Appointment of co-chair of joint GNSO-ccNSO IDN WG

Dear all, The council still needs to appoint a co-chair for the Joint ccNSO-GNSO IDN wg. As soon as the co-chair is appointed the wg can start its activities. Until the adoption of the charter by the council, Jian Zhiang was co-chairing on behalf of the ccNSO Council. It is suggested she would take on the role of co-chair of the wg as well. She has indicated she would be willing to co-chair the working group together with the GNSO appointed co-chair Edmon Chung. Please affirm Jian, or appoint somebody else as co-chair as soon as possible, Thank you and kind regards, Bart

Dear all, You are kindly requested to vote on the resolution on the adoption of the charter of the Technical working group. Please send a vote in favour, abstention or against the resolution by Thursday 3 December 2010. The updated charter is included. Thank you and kind regards, Bart Resolution Background: At its meeting in Mexico city on 4 March 2009, the ccNSO Council resolved to close the IANA working group. At the same meeting the Council resolved to review the scope of the Technical Working Group to ensure that it is mandated and capable of undertaking continuing work with IANA on outstanding issues. At the Seoul meeting the chair of the Technical working group proposed a charter to accommodate the Council's resolution. During its meeting in Seoul the Council discussed the proposed charter. Two issues needed to be addressed: Language in the charter relating to observers - Change from 'lurkers" to "observers" - and, seeking new members. During the Seoul meeting the Tech WG members reached out for new members, who were added. The WG in particular looked for people with firm technical and/or operational knowledge and experience. Proposed decision: the ccNSO Council adopts the charter of the Tech working group, as proposed by the chair of the Tech Working Group.

See ccnso.icann.org click the ³Resources² tab. The Resources are divided into ³Technical Resources², ³Marketing Resources² and ³Policy Resources² and each heading either has, or will have further sub-divisions. We are still looking for material to post under all of our headings and would therefore like to invite all of you who might have something to share to contact me. A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped building up the base of this website by submitting material: .cz, .fr, .no, .se, NLnetLabs, ENISA - you have all been amazingly helpful! We have unfortunately only had European contributors so far - which I hope can be changed in the future (although European contributions are of course still very welcome!).
