ccNSO Application for Membership (Virgin Islands (British) (.vg))

Fellow-councillors Please find attached the application from the British Virgin Islands for membership of the ccNSO. The application was actually sent in by Key Systems (the registry operator), but Gabi has confirmed with the ccTLD manager directly that this is in accordance with their wish to apply. IANA have also made no comment. Therefore, I commend the application to Council, and if Councillors have no objection, formal ratification could perhaps be added to our Agenda for Singapore. Dear all, ICANN has opened a public comment period for the annual review of the IDN ccTLD Fast Track Process ((https://www.icann.org/public-comments/idn-cctld-fast-track-2015-01-15-en) asking the community for feedback in the process . The input received will be used to determine appropriate updates to the current version of the Final Implementation Plan of the IDN ccTLD Fast Track Process and for the proposed IDN ccTLD policy, which is currently under consideration. To assist ccTLDs with an interest in the IDN ccTLD Fast Track Process and interested in providing feedback, the ccNSO Council decided to set up an Ad-hoc Group to review the Fast Track Process (RIFT) in order to facilitate individual ccTLD feedback or directly provide input. The ccNSO is now looking for volunteers to join this Ad-hoc Review Group. As the comment period closes on 24 Feb 2015, the work of this group needs to kick off as soon as possible. I would therefore be grateful if you could let me know in case you are interested in joining it by Thursday, 29 January. The RIFTP may as part of its activities take a position and provide input to the public comments forum and liaise with ICANN or other Supporting Organisations, Advisory Working Group¹s or Technical Community on its own behalf, without implying a position from the ccNSO or the ccNSO Council. Your input sought: Top-five list of ICANN enterprise risks

Dear all, The ICANN Board has a Board Risk Committee (BRC), which is tasked to provide oversight and guidance into enterprise risk identification and remediation for ICANN. The BRC is now reaching out to the various community groups, asking to identify what they believe are the major enterprise-wide risks to ICANN. It is looking for a top-five list of what risks our and other communities believe should be ICANN¹s top priority and will then compare these with its current list of priorities. We would therefore be interested in hearing what you think are the major enterprise risks for ICANN and would welcome your feedback by Tuesday, 3 February. The most frequently mentioned risks will be compiled and submitted to the Board as ccTLD Community feedback. The Board committee will then evaluate the input received from the various SO¹s and AC¹s and see if their own set priorities align with the community¹s. Kind regards, Gabi

Summary SECIR Conference call

Dear all, Following summary is posted on behalf of the SECIR WG Chair Cristian Hesselman. == Summary SECIR Conference Call #10 The ccNSO working group ³Secure Email Communication for cccTLD Incident Response² (SECIR) held its tenth conference call on Mon Jan 26. We discussed three topics: (1) The TLD-OPS overview document, which describes how to use the TLD-OPS mailing list and a lightweight procedure to subscribe to it. The TLD-OPS list is the version 1 implementation of the SECIR Contact Repository. Its purpose is to enable ccTLD operators to easily and quickly contact each other, thus allowing them to better handle incidents that require a coordinated response of ccTLDs at the global level. The TLD-OPS list is only accessible to people who are responsible for the overall security and stability of a ccTLD and who have been authenticated as such by their IANA Admin Contact. The TLD-OPS list is being maintained by the ccNSO Secretariat. The list server runs at DNS-OARC. (2) The WG planning until the Singapore meeting. We decided to use this week to finalize the TLD-OPS overview document and to invite the first batch of ccTLDs to join the TLD-OPS list as of Feb 2. We will ask these ccTLDs to share their experience with us so we¹ll be able to fine-tune the TLD-OPS subscription procedure where necessary. We¹ll invite the rest of the community to join the list after the Singapore meeting, again in batches to manage the Secretariat's workload. We¹ll make the TLD-OPS overview document available on the ccNSO website. (3) Our face-to-face meeting in Singapore. We briefly went through potential agenda items, which included outreach activities and calendar, the way forward on the WG¹s final report, and preparations for our presentation at the ccNSO Members Day (Tue Feb 10, 14:00-14:15 SGT, room Olivia). Our next WG meeting will take place at ICANN52 in Singapore on Mon Feb 9, 14:00-15:00 SGT in room Bras Basah.
