Hi all, A couple of points that may be relevant: - What’s next on protection on country en territory names now that CCWG is preparing their final report and will come to conclusion that it is not feasible to come up with an overall approach? Is the Board inclined to keep the status quo from the applicant guidebook or will it yield tot he wishes of the GNSO? - Location for ICANN meetings: given all the trouble with visa for ICANN57, how will the Board address this to avoid this in future? ICANN board

Greetings All from the CENTR meeting in Belgrade. Thank you to Margarita, Katrina and Demi for nominating me and Eberhard for seconding my nomination for the ICANN Board. A number of CENTR members have asked me today if I will accept the nomination. The answer is yes, I would be honoured and delighted to serve the ccNSO for another term on the ICANN Board. If anyone has anything they would like to ask me, please feel free to do so. Meanwhile, in July this year I was the subject of a 360 degree review by my colleagues on the Board. Dear All, The ICANN Policy Development Support Team will provide a Policy Update Webinar on Thursday, 20 October 2016 at 10:00 UTC and 19:00 UTC, in preparation for the upcoming ICANN Annual General Meeting in Hyderabad. The purpose of the webinar is to summarize policy activities across the ICANN policy development community and briefing the community on the Cross-Community sessions taking place in Hyderabad. Announcement: https://www.icann.org/news/announcement-2016-10-05-en Topics on the agenda: cross-community session briefings, community engagement team update, and lastly updates from the supporting organisations and Advisory Committees, including, among others, an update by the ccNSO. The two sessions are duplicates, scheduled to accommodate different time zones. Each session runs for 90 minutes and will be run in English. The webinar will be conducted in Adobe Connect along with a dial-in conference bridge for audio. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions at the end of each session. During the course of the webinar, questions may be submitted using the chat function in Adobe Connect. Council preparatory meeting in Hyderabad

Dear Councilors, As you may know, the ccNSO Council will have their prep meeting in Hyderabad on 4 November from 12:15-13:45 IST. This will be a working lunch and a box lunch will be provided. Please let me know your sandwich preference as soon as possible. Vegetarian Chicken Meat (beef or lamb, please indicate) Box will include: 1 - bottled water 500 ML. 1 - wrap/sandwich with good/gourmet bread 1 - bag of chips 1 - sliced fruit bowl Thank you and please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns.
