gTLD Marketplace Health Index : community review and comments sought

Dear all, Earlier this month, ICANN published the gTLD Marketplace Health Index (Beta) (https://www.icann.org/en/system/files/files/gtld-marketplace-health-index-b… ) for community feedback. ICANN invites the community to review this report and submit comments on it no later than 6 September. The gTLD Marketplace Health Index presents statistics and trends related to generic top-level domains. ICANN intends to publish these statistics biannually to track progress against its goal of supporting the evolution of the domain name marketplace to be robust, stable, and trusted. Following the close of the public comment period, ICANN will work with a group of community volunteers to further refine the Index. ICANN is seeking hosts for its public meetings to be held in 2019 and 2020

Dear all, ICANN is actively seeking hosts for its public meetings to be held in 2019 and 2020 in Europe, Africa, Asia/Australia/Pacific, North America and Latin America/Caribbean. Meetings in 2019 and 2020 will follow the new ICANN Meeting Strategy<https://meetings.icann.org/en/future-meeting-strategy> (https://meetings.icann.org/en/future-meeting-strategy) approved by the Board in 2014. The new strategy includes a unique format for each meeting throughout the year, defined as Meeting A, Meeting B and Meeting C. Elements such as cost of the meeting for ICANN and the community, convenience to international airports, availability of sufficient hotel guest rooms in or near the venue, meeting facilities, network infrastructure, personal health and safety of meeting participants, and total level of financial support will be considered by ICANN in making its final selection of a meeting site. ICANN Board adopted the updated ICANN Five Year Operating Plan, and the ICANN FY17 Operating Plan and Budget

Dear all, The ICANN Board adopted the updated ICANN Five Year Operating Plan, and the ICANN FY17 Operating Plan and Budget in June 2016 at ICANN56 in Helsinki, Finland. These plans are the result of several months of collaborative work by the community, staff and Board Finance Committee members, and include: • Highlights of all ICANN operations • Overview of the Internet Authority Numbers Authority (IANA) Stewardship Transition and Implementation • Overview of ICANN's FY17 budget • Detailed FY17 operating plan • Detailed portfolios of planned activities that support the goals and objectives described in the ICANN Strategic Plan for Fiscal Years 2016–2020 and the updated Five-Year Operating Plan • Detailed list of projects for each portfolio, with project-level budgeted costs • Summary of changes from Draft FY17 Operating Plan and Budget The community's continuously increasing participation in the planning process is a cornerstone of ICANN's transparency and accountability to the public. community input on the Draft PTI Articles of Incorporation

Dear all, A public comment proceeding seeks community input on the Draft PTI Articles of Incorporation developed to reflect the recommendations contained in the proposals by the IANA Stewardship Transition Coordination Group (ICG) as provided to the ICANN Board and transmitted to NTIA on 10 March 2016. In order to incorporate an affiliate, which is a necessary step in ICANN's planning efforts for the implementation of the ICG Proposal, a first step is to file articles of incorporation. There are legal requirements for the content of articles of incorporation. Keeping these requirements in mind, the proposed draft of the PTI Articles of Incorporation was developed to meet the recommendations of the IANA Stewardship Transition Coordination Group (ICG) proposal that a new legal entity be formed to perform the three IANA functions. Any interested party may review and provide feedback on the draft PTI Articles during the public comment period. The comments will be analyzed against the legal requirements and incorporated for the ICANN Board consideration and approval of ICANN proceeding with the incorporation of PTI. Please note that candidates may self-nominate. If you are interested in serving in this position, please, send an email to the ccNSO Secretariat (ccnsosecretariat(a)icann.org<mailto:ccnsosecretariat@icann.org>), and include a short motivation why you wish to serve on the NomCom. Closing date for nomination is Friday 29 July 2015, 17.00 UTC. The list of candidates will be presented to all ccNSO Councillors, who are eligible to vote and who will then take a decision by email vote. The NomCom is an independent committee tasked with selecting eight members of the Board of Directors and other key positions within ICANN's structure. The 2017 NomCom will select 3 Directors of the ICANN Board, 2 members of the ALAC, 1 member of the GNSO Council, and 1 member of the ccNSO Council. CSC Selection results and report

Dear Councillors, Please find attached the report on the selection process of two ccTLD members on the Customer Standing Committee. Please let me know if you have any questions/comments regarding this report by Monday. We would like to share the report with the community as soon as possible. Yesterday our Selection Committee participated on the coordination call with the Selection Committee of the RySG. Everyone on the call felt very confident about the people selected to serve on the CSC. The next step will be to work on the full slate together with the GNSO Council. As soon as we know the names put forward by other communities, we will forward them to all the Councillors so that you can share your concerns or preferences (should you have any) with the Selection Committee. Resignation from ccNSO council

Dear Katrina & Councillors, As you are well aware, my contribution to the Council & its structures has been quite below par for at least the last year due to unabating work commitments on my part. As much as I was hoping something will give & I can return to more active participation in the Council, things continue to look difficult for me. Accordingly, after 2.5 terms as a ccNSO Councillor for Africa, I would like to resign from the Council so that another candidate from Africa can make a contribution to the well-being of the ccTLD community through the Council. I am not sure how you want us to handle this leading to the next elections, but if it¹s not causing any problems to the Council, I would like my resignation to be immediate. Having said that, I wish the Council all the best. In you we have a bunch of hard-working & knowledgeable councillors who are making sure the interests of the ccTLD community are well advocated and respected.
