Dear all, ICANN published an update to the gTLD Marketplace Health Index (Beta), which presents statistics and trends related to generic top-level domains (gTLDs). ICANN plans to publish these statistics twice a year to track progress against its goal of supporting the evolution of the domain name marketplace to be robust, stable and trusted. A community Advisory Panel (https://community.icann.org/display/projgtldmarkthealth/gTLD+Marketplace+He…) is working with ICANN to refine the Index in preparation for publishing version 1.0. Closure of Rejection Action Petition Periods

Greetings, I am writing to you in my role as the ccNSO Representative to the Empowered Community Administration. Please be advised that the following Rejection Action Board Notices . ICANN's FY2018 Budget and Operating Plan; . IANA's FY2018 Budget; and . ICANN's Five-Year Operating Plan submitted by the ICANN Secretary to the Empowered Community Administration and Decisional Participants on 24 June 2017 (see https://www.icann.org/en/system/files/bm/secretarys-notice-24jun17-en.pdf; https://www.icann.org/en/system/files/bm/secretarys-notice-2-24jun17-en.pdf; and https://www.icann.org/en/system/files/bm/secretarys-notice-3-24jun17-en.pdf respectively) have not resulted in any Rejection Action Petition Notices from the Empowered Community during the Rejection Action Petition Period. With the expiration of the Rejection Action Petition Period, without the receipt of any Rejection Action Petition Notice from Decisional Participants, the Empowered Community Administration has formally notified the ICANN Secretary, pursuant to Section 2.2(c)(ii) of Annex D of the Bylaws, that the Rejection Process for the above referenced Rejection Action Board Notices has been formally terminated by the Empowered Community Administration. This Drafting Team was tasked to identify the GNSO's new rights and obligations under the revised ICANN Bylaws which were adopted following the IANA Stewardship transition. Please note that candidates may self-nominate. Please also note that you are required to be associated with a ccTLD manager. If you are interested in serving in this position, please, send an email to the ccNSO Secretariat (ccnsosecretariat(a)icann.org) and include a short motivation why you wish to serve on the NomCom. Closing date for nomination is Friday 21 July 2015, 17.00 UTC. The list of candidates will be presented to all ccNSO Councillors who are eligible to vote. Councillors will then take a decision by email vote. Under the 1 October 2016 Bylaws the NomCom is an independent committee tasked with nominating eight members of the Board of Directors and other key positions within ICANN's structure. The 2018 NomCom will select Directors of the ICANN Board, member(s) of the ALAC, member(s)of the GNSO Council, 1 member of the ccNSO Council. More information on the criteria for serving as appointee on the NomCom can be found at the end of this email and on the NomCom itself at: https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/nomcom-2013-12-13-en . Persons with wide contacts, broad experience in the Internet community, and a commitment to the success of ICANN; 3. Persons whom the selecting body is confident will consult widely and accept input in carrying out their responsibilities; 4. In addition: * NomCom delegates should have a high level network of contacts essential to candidate recruitment * The person should be able to join monthly teleconferences (typically 13:00 or 14:00 UTC). Note that the committee's workload will increase significantly during Apr/May/June 2018 when the candidate assessment process will be at its busiest. Conference calls are held more frequently (typically weekly) during this time as well. * The person must be able to attend the NomCom selection meeting in late June 2018. * The person should be willing to work in a large, consensus-oriented committee. Dear All Regarding the LAC region it is very difficult for a significant number of ccTLDs to attend ICANN meetings, even more so when they are held outside the LAC region. On top of that, the technical staff are not the ones sent to these meetings, so the probability of them being able to attend this particular workshop is very little. LACTLD does a yearly technical workshop where huge efforts are made to gather the technical staff of as many LAC ccTLDs as possible, to share experiences and have capacity building workshops. This is the best event of the year to approach this particular community (to let them know who the people in this TLD-OPS group are and why they should trust them and join the list) and share workshops like the one in Copenhagen.
