The call for volunteers for the course revision team opens Wednesday, 1 September 2021 (23:59 UTC) and closes Wednesday, 15 September 2021 (23:59 UTC). What is this about? The ccNSO Onboarding Course (ICANN Learn identifier 150.1) was created a few years ago, as part of the efforts by the ccNSO to inform the broader community about its role in supporting ccTLDs and its place within the ICANN ecosystem. The course is available on ICANN Learn, an online learning platform requested by and built for the global ICANN community. Courses cover the basics of what ICANN and the various Supporting Organisations and Advisory Committees do, how to get involved, and more. The Council then requested the OISC to take all steps necessary to start and complete the review as soon as possible, including but not limited to seeking volunteers to assist in the review, and developing a work plan and report to the Council on a regularly basis. A small team of ccTLD representatives – under the auspices of the OISC - is now expected to review the course and to recommend improvements. The team will perform an extensive revision of the current course, addressing both content, accessibility, and other aspects. How to apply? Are you associated with a ccTLD manager, interested in e-learning and related matters and keen on serving on the course revision team? Basic knowledge about the ccNSO and its role is required. The GNSO Council tasked the EPDP Phase 2A Team to consider two issues, namely the differentiation of legal vs. natural persons’ registration data and the feasibility of unique contacts to have a uniform anonymized email address. The GNSO Council will now consider the Final Report and its related recommendations. In accordance with the Guideline: ccNSO Appointment Procedures<https://ccnso.icann.org/sites/default/files/field-attached/guidelines-ccnso…>, the ccNSO Council is now looking for two (2) volunteers to serve on the second Customer Standing Committee Effectiveness Review team on behalf of the ccNSO. This call for volunteers opens Friday, 27 August 2021 and closes Friday 10 September 2021 (23:59 UTC). How to apply? You are required to be associated with a ccTLD manager. Please include a motivation letter explaining why you wish to serve on the Effectiveness team and how you meet the candidate requirements below. The method of review will be determined by the ccNSO and GNSO.” The CSC was established in October 2016 and conducted its first meeting on 6 October 2016. In October 2018, the first review of the CSC Effectiveness Review was kicked-off, and was concluded in March 2019, with adoption of the Final CSC Effectiveness Review Report by the ccNSO and GNSO Councils. The CSC Effectiveness Review is intended to consider the Effectiveness of the CSC in carrying out its mission as defined in the Charter of the CSC. The Review Team The ccNSO and GNSO will each appoint two members to CSC Review Team, in accordance with their internal processes. At least one member appointed by the ccNSO Council and one member appointed by the GNSO Council should be related to or associated with a TLD Operator (direct customer of the IANA Naming Function). Time Commitment As member you should be able to join the regular teleconferences. Note that the committee's workload usually increases significantly around the time reports need to be drafted (two: the Interim Report and Final Report) . As member you are also expected to participate actively in the consultations of interested stakeholder group. The Review Team is expected to deliver its final report by April 2022.

Dear All, This is a final reminder regarding the e-mail below, previously sent by David McAuley in his capacity as Chair of a ccNSO Guidelines Review Committee sub-group on the revised ccNSO Rules. The sub-group seeks comments and feedback from the ccNSO membership, regarding certain provisions in the draft new Rules. Your input is valuable to identify issues, and helps the sub-group to find solutions. The new Rules will have a direct impact on the governance structure of the ccNSO, specifically on the respective roles and responsibilities of the Council and ccNSO membership. The sub-group held a webinar on 26 August (consult the recording here<https://community.icann.org/display/ccnsowkspc/ccNSO+Webinars>), and continues to welcome your comments and suggestions. Please review the materials (enclosed), and send any comments or suggestions you may have on the ccNSO members mailing list. The deadline is Friday, 10 September 2021 (close of business). Next Steps A ccNSO Governance session will be held at ICANN72. The goal of the ICANN72 session is to consult the ccNSO membership on the proposed revised internal Rules of the ccNSO, and to collect additional feedback. ICANN72 marks the 4th ccNSO Governance Session, building on the previous sessions at ICANN69, ICANN70 and ICANN71, where the ccNSO Council and Members have been discussing the need to update the internal rules of the ccNSO, which were adopted in 2004. Based on the feedback, the Working Group will finalize its draft, which will then be put before the ccNSO membership for adoption. Thank you. This effort involves a first possible update to the original ccNSO Rules [ccnso.icann.org]<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/ccnso.icann.org/en/about/rules.htm__;!!P…>, adopted in 2004 and still in effect. We did some polling of member views among those in attendance with respect to certain provisions in our draft. But not all members were able to attend and so we are sending this note to encourage further feedback. We intend to present a draft final set of rules for members consideration at ICANN72 in late October. Your input/feedback will help us better understand just how members wish the rules to be updated so we can finalize the draft. Toward that end, we seek further input/feedback on this list by the close of business on Friday, September 10th.
