Dear ccNSO Members, dear ccNSO Councillors, The timeline for the upcoming Board Seat 12 nominations procedure has been adjusted. Nominations will start on Wednesday, 19 July 2023 (00:01 UTC). The closing date of the call for nominations was adjusted accordingly and is scheduled for Wednesday 9 August 23.59 UTC. Apologies for the delayed start time. To stay informed about the Board Seat Nomination process, consult the upcoming announcement on the ccNSO Members mailing list, and the ccNSO website<https://ccnso.icann.org/en/about/nominations.htm>. What is this about? The term of Katrina Sataki, the ccNSO nominated Director fulfilling ICANN Board Seat 12, will expire at the ICANN81 Annual General Meeting held in October 2024. By October 2024, Katrina will have served one term on the Board: she is eligible for reappointment. Directors to the ICANN Board may serve maximum three consecutive terms. The ccNSO Council is required to select a candidate in accordance with the relevant ICANN Bylaws and internal rules of the ccNSO applicable at the time of the call for nominations. To meet the ICANN Bylaws requirement of appointing a Director by 26 April 2024, the ccNSO Council will open a call for nominations to fill ICANN Board Seat number 12, starting Wednesday, 19 July 2023 (00:01 UTC) and closing 3 weeks later, on Wednesday, 9 August 2023 (23:59 UTC). Elections will be held in November 2023, after completion of due diligence verifications by a professional firm on the nominee(s). I am not certain at this point what to make of the action taken by the IANA with regards to .ib, as described in the above referenced correspondence. I believe, however, that we as Council need to think about and discuss the action that the IANA took with respect to this circumstance. Update Guideline ccNSO Work plan

Dear all, The GRC has completed its review and update of the Guideline: ccNSO Annual workplan ( https://docs.google.com/document/d/1JZTfRatVdfVisIai9HPIaVmVKehbnidC/edit) The GRC has not included a redline as comparison would be very complicated. The current guideline ( which is overtaken by the current practices) can be found at: https://ccnso.icann.org/about/guidelines-work-plan-30mar16-en.pdf You (and especially the member of the Triage Committee) are now requested to provide your feed-back and input on the draft, which will then be taken. Into account by the GRC to further update the Guideline. It would be most helpful if you could review the document and provide your comments, if any by Thursday 13 July 2023.
