REMINDER: GNSO PDP to Review the Transfer Policy The Generic Names Supporting Organization (GNSO) Council recently initiated a two-phased policy development process (PDP) to review the Transfer Policy, which will determine if changes to the policy are needed to improve the ease, security, and efficacy of inter-registrar and inter-registrant transfers. Expressions of Interest: Chair of the GNSO PDP Working Group to Review the Transfer Policy Expressions of Interest are now being accepted for the chair of the GNSO PDP working group to review the Transfer Policy. All are encouraged to review and share this information about the chair role. The deadline to submit Expressions of Interest is Friday, 16 April 2021. Call for Volunteers: GNSO PDP Working Group to Review the Transfer Policy SO/AC/SG/C chairs received a letter inviting them to appoint a limited number of members and alternates to the GNSO PDP working group to review the Transfer Policy. The deadline for appointments is Monday, 26 April 2021. Dear All, This is a reminder that the public comment for the SSR2 Review Team Final report closes 8 Apr 2021 23:59 UTC Read more: https://www.icann.org/public-comments/ssr2-final-report-2021-01-28-en Purpose: On 25 January 2021, the second Security, Stability, and Resiliency (SSR2) Review Team submitted its final report<https://www.icann.org/en/system/files/files/ssr2-review-team-final-report-2…> to the ICANN Board. This Public Comment proceeding aims to gather community input on the final report. Current Status: The SSR2 Review Team Final Report<https://www.icann.org/en/system/files/files/ssr2-review-team-final-report-2…> is issued for Public Comment to inform Board action on the SSR2 Review Team's final recommendations. Next Steps: Per the ICANN Bylaws (Section 4.6(a)(vii)(C))<https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/governance/bylaws-en/#article4.6>, the Board shall consider the SSR2 Review Team Final Report<https://www.icann.org/en/system/files/files/ssr2-review-team-final-report-2…> within six months of receipt of the final report, i.e. by 25 July 2021. To expedite the Country Code Names Supporting Organization (ccNSO) decision-making on the proposed recommended policy for the Retirement of country code Top-Level Domains (ccTLDs), it is proposed to separate Part 1 (on the Retirement of ccTLDs) from Part 2 (on Review Mechanism). Are there any concerns separating the two policy development efforts: Retirement of ccTLDs (Part 1) and Review Mechanism (Part 2)? 2. Related, are there any major concerns with respect to the proposed recommendation for the retirement policy, which have not been raised before or are inadequately addressed in the final paper? Current Status In February 2021 the ccNSO Working Group on the Retirement of country code Top-Level Domains (ccTLDs) concluded its work by unanimously supporting the policy recommendations pertaining to the retirement of ccTLDs. This policy development effort is part of the third ccNSO Policy Development Process, which was initiated in 2017 to develop policy recommendations on the Retirement of ccTLDs (Part 1) and to develop policy recommendations for a Review Mechanism for decisions pertaining to the delegation, transfer, revocation and retirement of ccTLDs (Part 2). Next Steps If there are no major concerns, neither regarding the separation of Part 1 and Part 2 nor regarding the recommended Retirement Policy itself, the policy recommendations contained in this report will be taken to the ccNSO Council and ccNSO Membership for their consideration. Call for Volunteers: The ccNSO seeks volunteers for a GRC sub-working Group, working on the amendment of the 2004 internal ccNSO Rules

Dear All, At its meeting held on 25 March, the ccNSO Council requested the ccNSO Guideline Review Committee (GRC) to create a sub-working group that will focus specifically on detailing the structure, relation and topics of the future ccNSO member Rules and Operational Procedures. The ccNSO Secretariat now launches this call for volunteers. Who can join? Representatives from ccTLD Managers who are ccNSO members. Membership in the ccNSO is open to entities and organisations responsible for managing an ISO 3166 country-code top-level domain. To ensure timely participation and start of this effort, the volunteers may participate in the proceedings of the sub-group of the GRC on equal footing as the GRC members, from the moment onwards the ccNSO Secretariat receives your expression of interest. Participation in the sub-group ends, once the sub-group closes. Working method The committee meets regularly through telephone conferences. The working language of the committee is English.
