Dear All, This is a reminder that the MPC seeks presentation proposals from the ccTLD community, as part of the Virtual ccTLD News Sessions. There will be 2 options to participate, prior to ICANN69. Presentations should focus preferably on one of the following 2 topics: 1. Policy updates by ccTLD registries during the COVID-19 pandemic 2. Legislative initiatives that impact ccTLD registries (e.g. the Digital Services Act package [ec.europa.eu]<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/ec.europa.eu/digital-single-market/en/di…> by the European Commission, or other similar initiatives around the globe) Alternatively, the MPC might consider presentation proposals, covering for instance recent developments, ccTLD activities and ccTLD management related topics, both from an operational, marketing or legal point of view. How to apply? This summary will be used to evaluate your proposal, and - when selected – to promote the agenda of the ccTLD News Sessions. When will the Virtual ccTLD News Sessions be held? 2020 Nominating Committee (NomCom): An Update on the Selection Process

hello everyone, Please find included below a blog post by Jay Sudowski, 2020 NomCom Chair, as posted on https://www.icann.org/news/blog/2020-nominating-committee-nomcom-an-update-… = = = In May 2020, we shared an update<https://www.icann.org/news/blog/an-update-from-the-2020-nominating-committee> on the 2020 NomCom’s progress with selecting qualified candidates for open ICANN leadership positions. At that time, we advised that the COVID-19 pandemic would require us to revise our timeline. As you know, we normally would have announced the candidates for open leadership positions by now. Due to the pandemic challenges, the 2020 NomCom has revised our selection process timeline. Selection Process Timeline The 2020 NomCom continues its Phase Four work and we are working closely with the ICANN Board and organization (org) to ensure we can continue our work in these challenging times. Throughout this process, we have kept the Board and the org informed of our revised timeline. We will hold our final selection meeting from 25-30 September 2020 and will announce the selections for the seven open leadership positions soon after. Although the timeline has been extended, we want to assure you that we are committed to selecting the candidates in time to be seated at the ICANN69 Annual General Meeting this October 2020. We were pleased to receive a number of excellent applications and are working hard to narrow down the candidates. The new leadership positions include: · Two members of the ICANN Board of Directors · One member of the Public Technical Identifiers (PTI) Board of Directors · Two regional representatives of the At-Large Advisory Committee (ALAC) · One member of the Generic Names Supporting Organization (GNSO) Council · One member of the Country Code Names Supporting Organization (ccNSO) Council The 2020 NomCom thanks you for your patience and understanding as we continue our work and we want to apologize for not providing an update on our progress sooner. We also appreciate the ICANN Board and org for their ongoing support during these challenging times. We look forward to announcing the selectees in October. REMINDER: Webinar on the Draft Final Report of the GNSO New gTLD Subsequent Procedures PDP Working Group From: Cheryl Langdon-Orr and Jeffrey Neuman, Co-Chairs The Generic Names Supporting Organization (GNSO) New gTLD Subsequent Procedures Policy Development Process Working Group published its draft Final Report for Public Comment on 20 August 2020. This draft Final Report is the culmination of several years of deliberations and numerous public consultations, in support of the large number of topics captured in the working group charter. The working group has worked extremely hard to reach this point and is looking forward to considering feedback received as it seeks to complete its Final Report and deliver it to the GNSO Council. To aid in your review and understanding of the draft Final Report, we have scheduled a webinar on Monday, 14 September 2020 at 20:00 UTC to present on a selection of the topics within the draft Final Report, answer questions you may have, and provide context where it may be needed. There are three objectives for this webinar: Review the purposes and practical examples of the PDP 3.0 work products that have been applied in ongoing GNSO working groups Begin the preliminary assessment of PDP 3.0 impact Help other Supporting Organizations and Advisory Committees evaluate the applicability of PDP 3.0 improvements in their internal processes. In addition, the webinar will also include an introduction of the Consensus Playbook to start the initial community discussion of its contents and practical utility. This was ICANN org’s action item from the call we all had on 27 July and we look forward to your feedback. You will see that the draft incorporates the suggestions and feedback from that call and includes a number of suggestions and questions in square brackets that await your further consideration and decision. In addition, there is a suggested timeline on Page 2 that we hope will be helpful to you in determining the level of commitment that can be expected of members of the Group. While the actual cadence, timing and duration of the Group’s meetings remain to be determined, we think that the initial work will likely require several hours of commitment per week. We look forward to receiving your input so that we can finalize the Terms of Reference as soon as possible following the end of the Expression of Interest period for potential panelists on 31 August. To that end, we propose organizing another call with you to discuss your feedback either next week or as soon as possible. At the next call, we also hope that you will be able to decide on how you wish to populate the Group so that we can proceed with the selection work without delay.
